I think it is a security feature, but I see that it is a bit too fast. I encountered the same problem.

1 PX is minimum (some coins have problems with staking, when the amount is lower than 1, my assumption here).

but you have to wait months for getting maybe .2px as a stake.

This should be the minimum. This is just a rough estimate. I need to get an expert to find out what 50% per year = what % per day ?
