I just want to confirm is this a Raspberry Pi? It looks a lot like a Raspberry Pi design. Then also if this is directly on the internet, will the private keys be stored on the device? How will you make sure that the device is not hacked.

The design is Single Board like a Raspberry concept design bit it is not the Raspberry. They have firewall and other security services for the device locally for protection. You should ask their crazy dev guy on their Discord chat. His name is dmax.

Going to be making a few modifications to the OP.

Also - we have decided to call the device 'QORT Device Gen 1' for the first generation. The device is a router/access point, QORT node, and everything else listed in the OP, we have just decided to call it QORT device Gen 1.

Your dev dmax told me earlier that he had the latest kernel with lockdown feature. Does it provide comprehensive coverage? I don't see him on your Discord. Does he use bitcointalk? I have investor from China who want to invest in this device for production. Please get back to me ASAP as my investors are interested in doing a call or a conference with you and the hardware engineers.

$180 for a raspberry pi idk.

It is not a raspberry pi and even if it was, you pay for the bundle.

Exactly, this isn't a raspberry pi, (I believe we even mentioned that in the initial documentation,) and MRPD is completely correct in the fact that you're not paying for just the device, if you purchase just a base single board computer it comeswithout an OS... let alone all the added features, upgrades and the access to a completely custom blockchain that will be able to pay for your internet connection and probably a lot more.

So, I guess you can look at it the way you are, but I believe the countless hours of work into the project, as well as the awesome setup on the device, plus the fact that we're only making 40 bucks (not including labor for building them, in any fashion) at the 180 price... and I think the device is well worth the price.

I'm sure after a few people check it out themselves, they will agree.

How I have decided it's going to work is this...

1. We calculate the amount VS BTC (I like https://preev.com usually.) for the total price minus shipping - which in your case, since you're in the first 25, is 180 dollars. ( at today's rate - 0.02199736 BTC)

2. Send that amount to hold your spot in the top 25. - BTC address - 16VNPuEs7YrNrSQfXV699iRKpb89awvZ3G - this will ensure you get your top 25 spot, and order in terms of payment for shipping order. (as in whoever pays first, gets the device shipped first.)

3. PM me your shipping address so that I can calculate the amount for shipping that will be needed depending on which location of ours it will be shipped from based on your location, trying to get the cheapest possibility.

4. We get everything ready, finalize the device, get the parts, and make shipment preparations in order of payment for each person.

5. We request the shipping amount be sent and ship the device when complete. (shipping will begin once we can install the final version of QORT onto the devices most likely, unless we have a simple method of upgrade from testnet to final version, which we may, just not sure entirely on that aspect quite yet.)

6. Devices are prepped and shipped out in order of who paid first.

Payment sent!!

Can't wait to get my hands on the router when the time comes Smiley

Thanks for the clarification. You can mark me as interested.

done. Smiley

Also -ANN- New case model picture.

We have made a few further modifications to it as well, the next version will have a larger logo, and be rid of the GPIO header hole that we will not be making use of for our specific device.

I am looking into adding LED lighting to it as well.

Here's the most recent print.

We will also have multi-color versions coming soon, as well as a slightly different overall design.

Here is one of the other designs in prototype phase. Multi-color.

Again we have decided to remove the GPIO header and screw holes, and make the logo larger, so the next versions will be that way.

I will be doing another interview next week, as well as reaching out to a few other groups. At this point almost no effort has gone into pushing this pre-sale. But since the launch of QORT is just around the corner, efforts will be increased over the coming week.

So all interested parties now, should make their interest known as soon as possible. Thanks!

Pricing

Given the costs of the hardware alone for the device are 125$ at the time of this announcement, we believe a fair price for the initial presale is as follows:

First 25 orders verified, with payment received - will pay 180$ (US dollars paid in BTC or LTC) for the fully customized device, with Qortal Node setup, and all features ready.

Next 50 orders verified, with payment received - will pay 225$ (US dollars paid in BTC or LTC) for the fully customized device, with Qortal node setup, and all features ready.

final presale price and price after the presale ends, will be 250$.

(Prices above are for 'Gen 1' device, built from the 'prime' development board.)

payable in BTC or LTC. - if you are interested, reply to this thread to mark your interest. Only people who pay are counted in the first x number of users.

BTC address (do not send to ANY other address or reply to any PMs, anyone PMing you regarding this is likely trying to scam you!) - 16VNPuEs7YrNrSQfXV699iRKpb89awvZ3G

LTC address (do not send to ANY other address or reply to any PMs, anyone PMing you regarding this is likely trying to scam you!) - Lc3ywiRAkB3gd7Q4BU6odbF22xYscfgvpX

All proceeds from the sales will go toward future development of both new devices and the Qortal project itself.

Estimated Delivery = Delivery estimates will be posted after presale funds have come in, orders for hardware have been made, etc. Delivery will happen ASAP.

What is included on Delivery = Presale purchasers will obtain the device, custom case, and delivery to their address anywhere in the world (shipping is extra on top of the base price. Users who donate do not pay shipping, and have first access to any new models of the router, or any other hardware we release, plus the minting acount.)

*If QORT network launches before we can get the devices built and shipped, presale donators will be able to setup their minting account on any of their existing computers at launch, then transfer that account to the router for ease of use in continuing to run it.

This looks amazing. Your dev dmax must be earning good rewards for his work. One person doing it all or he has other engineers working on that?

We are all doing this for the good of the project, no one has yet received much of anything for what has been done so far. However, once the platform is fully launched, there will be founder accounts given to those who have gone above and beyond. We believe wholeheartedly that those accounts will provide us adequate reward for our work. Smiley

Hi,

Very interesting project. I have a few questions though;

1. What exactly will we get when ordering a pre-sale router in terms of hardware, since you seem to be making different routers with different specifications?

2. You say shipping is extra, does that mean we have to first pay for the router and later pay again for shipping? How much do you expect the shipping price to be approximately?

3. You say the hardware is open source and we can build it ourself, however I could not find any blueprints anywhere. Are these already publicly available and if so where do I find them?

1. You will get the first device that is fully complete, which is 'Gen 1' device. The others are only in planning phase and we haven't actually built prototypes yet.

2. Shipping will be on top of the device price, based on where you are and which of our locations we will decide to ship from. We will do our best to make it as low as possible, but we can also offer options for quicker shipping if you would like.

3. The device is built from an orange pi prime. All of the services we installed in our custom image ARE open source. So you could definitely build one if you like. The QORT blockchain is also open source, and when it is released you can set it up as well. Right now though, the blockchain is in testnet phase and hasn't been released.

All of the services we listed are easily found, and setup if you know how to do it. We are putting it all together in a simple pre-setup package, fully functional. To save people the hassle of doing it, and also giving them a version with a custom case, etc. Also, our engineers have made a completely optimized version of the software, operating system, etc. and built it into our own image.

So yes, everything is open source, but we will not be giving out our specific tweaks that will make our device much faster and more stable, as those are what will give the device we build some sort of 'edge' over those built by anyone else. Personally, even though I could build one myself, I would take the one built by our hardware guy any time over one I customized myself, as he's a master. I think other people will feel the same once they get a device in their hands.
