Is the schedule for launch of QORT still on time for 2/1/2020?

Encrypted Money, Baby!
From the QORT Discord, I learned that the final burn date is delayed for at least another month. Not yet officially confirmed, still waiting for Crowetic to do that.

@crowetic, I know it's new year's etc, but this is important. Can you confirm that the final burn date is end of January 2020?

Thanks.

Edit: in a private message, I got confirmation about the delay. I think we'll get an official statement, soon.

i deleted all my previous Post here. Like most people . I spoke to soon without fully understanding the concept. Partly cause i was excited but mostly human error. This project is one of the most exciting project i have seen next to BITCOIN. Enough said time to accumulate

Thank you.

We have put a TON of effort into making sure that the project is as awesome as possible. Addressing as many issues with other systems we saw as we could... etc...

I had to accommodate the QORA people, but also didn't want to dilute the new chain at all, so the compromise I came up with in the 'slow transition' I believe makes perfect sense.

I will be posting the ANN for QORT itself here soon, we are 99% ready just waiting on a few more i's to be crossed and t's to be dotted. Wink

I posted a preview of the QORT UI in Discord the other day if anyone is interested in seeing that. Smiley

I understand the worry regarding the previous QORA, this is exactly why we are NOT DOING A 'SWAP'.

I wanted to support the original QORA people, while at the same time not having a massive dump potential...

So, the way we resolved this... is...

1. the original QORA forgers, who forged blocks when QORA was 'dead'... get rewarded with  a minting account of a pre-determined level... up to level 5. So they still can't be started with a massive advantage, but still get something for supporting QORA when it was 'dead' in public eyes.

2. the holders of QORA get rewarded 250x less QORT than QORA held, over a long period of time from 20% of every block's reward split between them.

This means that only 1 coin of the initial 5 coin block reward, goes to the original holders, in small fractions, every minute. 20% of the overall QORT rewards, goes to the original QORA holders, every block.

So over time, they will slowly gain up to 250x less QORT than QORA held.

hopefully this makes sense.

3. THE QORT MINTERS will be the most rewarded, regardless of anything in the past. They will be rewarded by gaining level by supporting the network in running a full node and being legitimate. Even the founders must run a full node and contribute to the network if they look to be rewarded. NO ONE GETS REWARDED FOR NOTHING IN QORT.

Contributing members of the network, gain in level, and the higher level you have the more % of each block you are given. It is a very fair system.

Regardless of when you start in the system, you can gain a higher level and more influence and reward from that. There should be relatively low benefit for any one person at any one time. Over time it will all average out, regardless.

This is not how it was presented on the video i watched from the developer. Been looking for the informational resources on how to build the devices?

You wish to know how to build the devices so you can mass produce the minters and gain an unfair advantage in QORT, this is what you are implying.

You are probably from somewhere that is cheaper to mass produce these electronics.

You were given the information if you wish to join minting at the beginning, that is fair enough.

Nope i just want to build one. They have already said the device is built from readily  available parts. I just want to be able to build one for myself and be ready at launch so i can tier up faster. I hope they can put out the information so we have time to buy the parts online and assemble it for the launch. Also i cannot find the exact launch date for mainnet?

Obviously you have not even bothered to read the rest of the ann on QORT.

Launch is 01/01/2020

You will have to buy the device otherwise you can use any other machine when the minting wallet files are released.

Funny ....how you use the word "Obviously" . Like i have not done my due diligence. The information about this project is seriously fragmented and between all the weblinks that go to abandoned websites . Seeing how the launch date has been pushed backed many times it is hard to get to the official launch date . I have done my due diligence. I watched the 2 hour interview with the developer twice to really get a better understanding of the project. Seeing how you really question my lack of  diligence. Let's talk about what i do know.

Positive+
The Development Team_
-Hard working and brilliant bunch of people
-Loyal to there user base
-Innovative and dedicated to developing
-Public figures and bona fide
-Values are deep rooted in the decentralized core values of the original vision of Satoshi
Technology_
-Original codebase built from the ground up
-Some of the most original, radical and exciting work done in this space in along time.
-true DEX and new decentralized use cases

Negative-
Qora_
-years of coin buildup that have MASSIVE dump potential
-Massive circulating supply VS. demand

Bag holders_
-Average 50 active discord members with 500 something offline
-Speculative- What Qora is in supply is held by very few. Even if you had some holders in the bunch. Any attempt for the rise to profitability levels will be met with DUMPS.

Delays_
-Project delays...Pretty self explanatory

Summary and final thoughts

This projects appeals to the nerd in me. I will participate just because i love gadgets and tinkering. This project is going to be a lot of fun with the hardware element.
I see an uphill battle with a lot of sad market days due to very few people already holding massive amounts of the supply . Some conflicting concepts in the vision of the future of this project.
I see investors shying away from this. Best thing these brilliant developers could do is scap the entire Qora angle and start fresh under a new name and branding and supply starts at ZERO

let me clear up a few things...

1. The dump potential of QORA - this is not going to be an issue, as only 20% of every block will go to previous holders, there will not be any massive amount to be dumped possible.

THE NEW CHAIN STARTS FROM 0 WITH 0 COINS. EVERY MINTER IS REWARDED EVERY BLOCK. YOUR LEVEL AND INPUT TO GET THAT LEVEL DETERMINES WHAT YOU EARN.

I really don't want people thinking there is any one group that will have any larger amount based on anything other than their input getting them a higher level.

Obviously the founders at first will earn more, but over time will earn the same, and they ALWAYS have to continue supporting the chain to be rewarded, just like everyone else.

2. The device is NOT required to mint. it is an option to give people an extra level of security, and a small wattage and power use device they can mint with.

wanted to share a picture as well, of my current test setup...

You'll be able to mint without the special QORT hardware but you will need to be validated by the minters first as someone who can be a reliable minting node.

The minting will be done in levels depending on your standing within the project. If all you want is to mint, then you will start at Level 1 and work your way up more levels with more percentage of reward as you go up in level. At the moment there is up to 5 levels.

The highest levels are reserved to the founders and those who kept minting QORA up to now, this is just for the launch of QORT. It will change as time passes and more higher level minters are approved. Those who burned their QORA into QORT will be able to mint from the start, but at a lower level.

That's as far as details that have been announced. I suggest reading back on this ann to see the answer to your question.

There is a Discord server setup if you would like to talk to people who are more knowledgeable on QORT.

I have updated the https://qortal.org page with more simple to understand information, and a single-page information site for the device.

Including a method to pay and order one directly from there.

~15 days until QORT launch, will be doing the ANN for that very shortly.

I want to see a pic with the LED lightning too haha How much memory does the QORT router have? For example can we run all the services listed on the Wiki at the same time on it? Like Tor + Bitcoin wallet + QORT full node + host a website, etc. ?

Yes it runs everything and more space left to run more. It is too good and optimised. You will be lucky to get reply from dmax but he has all answers. He built the image for this project.

Yes, every feature listed runs at the same time, and CPU usage is STILL below 7 percent. the newest kernel is built specifically for these devices, and specifically for Java and node.js focus and acceleration, so that the base components for QORT run extremely well.

we will be testing the UI this week as we finish up the final portions of it prior to the launch in December.

I've been running my device prototype for the last week or so, and it has been awesome.

it is now capable of being used as a Tor gateway from either the LAN it is connected to for use of its 'WAN', or of course, devices connected to its WiFi network. I've been using that quite frequently for anonymous net. did a test on dnsleaktest.com using DNS over ssl and proxy DNS through device Tor gateway, and it was perfect...

I don't think anyone should be without this awesome security appliance in their home. and the ability to mint and have your 5w device pay for your net connection and more, is going to be awesome!

I've really started pushing promoting this device out further to more eyes in the last couple days, and I added some information on the QORT website... https://qortal.org/index.php/device-info/

only about a half a month left of the pre-sale, and ability to obtain a pre-enabled minting account, saving you months of time and giving you larger portion of every block reward, every minute in the system! get in on the ground floor of the new decentalized internet!

this should be an easy way to show people the device with some easy to read bullets and such... since the device does so much, along with QORT itself, it's hard to explain everything without overwhelming people, so I put up the info page and also made some changes to the overall website. hopefully that helps clear up any confusion!

-[Update]- Testing new device image, and new 'mesh' addition on case.

We have decided to add a new 'mesh' under the top part of the case, which I personally think looks great!

Not only does the mesh enhance the look of the device, and will look really cool with the LED installation (which I will be doing later today...) but it also enhances the strength of the case top itself, especially the center of the logo. So it's a win win!

See below...

I am also testing the newest device image today which allows for any device (even on a LAN the device is using as its WAN) to utilize its tor gateway. Also a new monitoring tool, and a few other things. Will post more updates shortly.

ALSO - the 3D printer sent me an idea for a 2-color case version (this one doesn't have the mesh installed yet as it isn't to me yet.)

Amazing Project! Everyone can now own a portion of the decentralized trade portal! What exchange would ever allow you to do that, not to mention without giving your ID and Private Info.
It was worth the wait!!!

Doing a bit of testing and improvement, and addition of the LEDs.

Also, have decided to add some wire mesh in between the inner edges of the case, and the board, so that the 'honeycomb' and the logo therein, won't be as 'see through', and instead it should POP quite well, especially with the LED lighting running. Pretty excited about that, ordered a bunch of the necessary components today to get those ideas started. Smiley

If next gen 2 or 3 are more better than gen 1 then how about the swap or upgrade instead of buying the next gen ? Any package about that ?

Excellent progress so far. I am following. Your device is looking out of this world. So many things on one device and stable and working normal full speed. Amazing   Smiley

Thank you, I have gotten the first 'final' case , haven't done the LED lighting, but I am now testing the newest firmware image, so far so good, used the tor gateway to download torrents the other day with both a tor gateway and tor DNS... has been great... the newer image should be to me today, with even more added features.

Here's a shot of it running on my desk now. Smiley
