Hi Quark community.
MUE would not exist without Quark, so this is NOT an anti-Quark post.

I am trying to gauge potential interest in a Quark > MUE exchange program.

Essentially, interested users would send their Quark in exchange for MUE.
We would give you an above market price for your Quark, and by above market, I mean significantly above market.
Quark is currently at about 600 sats, I was thinking an initial promo of about 2400 sats i.e 4 x current value.
This would be a promotional "first come first served" period for a fixed amount.  Subsequent offers would be tiered downwards, whilst still providing fantastic value for money.

There are plenty more details should there be any interest.

To find out more about MUE please visit our ANN thread
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-monetaryunit-mue-pos-masternodes-funding-governance-services-devs-778322

or website
www.MonetaryUnit.org

Thanks! Smiley
I think there is potential for mutual benefit for both projects.

1)  People see they can redeem Quark for more than it is worth in MUE.  New people start buying Quark, increasing the Quark price.

2) The Quark we receive from the MUE exchange can partially be used to sell into these new buys for Quark, helping to increase the price of MUE by using the BTC revenue from the Quark sells to put into buying MUE.

3)  New people see MUE price increasing along with the existing development & infrastructure and start buying MUE, further increasing the MUE price, benefiting the Quark holders that converted to MUE.

I'm not suggesting this is a perpetual motion machine, however I do think there is potential benefit for both communities.

I reset the blockchain on my mac wallet a few days ago (deleted peers.dat and blk.dat files).
However it has been stuck for 2 days processing block 2433676 which was generated 5 weeks ago, around the time of the windows update.
Any thoughts?

As I know there was no update for mac wallets since 0.8.23,so you are stucked on the wrong fork. You have 2 options:

1. Install latest 0.9.2.6 wallet for windows or

2. try to copy peers.dat file from 0.9.2.6 wallet into yours wallet and then put command to reindex from block 2400000. Hopefully it will catch right fork after block 2433676.
I can't download the latest windows wallet onto my mac so how can i copy the peers.dat file.
Cheers.

Then make a conf.file and put these Quark active nodes which all running 0.9.2.6 version. Delete all other nodes in conf file.Connect command will assure that you will connect just to these nodes which are all on the right fork.

Add this :

-connect=70.163.93.46
-connect=193.158.4.34
-connect=178.24.96.69
-connect=136.243.71.152
-connect=109.74.215.171
-connect=80.219.216.73
-connect=88.101.6.125
-connect=45.63.9.189

I agree that it is a wallet issue. How should I reindex the blockchain on the Android wallet exactly??

There is no -reindex function in the app.  Reset blockchain is the only way.  I need to see the logs to figure out what is going on.

@HashEngineering Ok, the wallet you just updated works great now, but I have a problem....

Before you updated the wallet, I sent 34 QRK to this address QfRBP5aPRafMR29Y9hFm37FM3q1yQB487t and it never arrived... I just sent another 7 to the same address and it arrived promptly. I have reloaded the block chain, backed up keys and deleted the app. then re installed the app fresh and reimported the keys and the 34 QRK are still missing.

here is the transaction for the 34 QRK 1fd01f225c05761eb27ba8dd79cba531e8c335ae069d1cf898f0bd5e54d45cd7  any ideas why it is missing??

It shows as being in the address as it should, but is not in the wallet. Can you incorporate the -rescan function into this wallet or a terminal window we can input RPC commands to??

Both your Quark transactions came through:

So,this is your wallet problem.Rescan maybe not be enough. You should reindex complete blockchain

Send me a report by going to Settings, then Report Issue (and append Wallet Dump).

The blockchain reset is the same as a -rescan, although the app doesn't store the whole blockchain and instead must download it each time it is reset.

I don't know why that 34 is missing, but the wallet dump will help me figure it out.  This only send me your addresses, not private keys.

Exchanges rise and fall, both big and small...do not store your coins on any exchange for longer than is needed to make your trades.

I think most of traders understand this. But what to suggest to people who want to withdraw their coins, but unable to do this because exchange does not maintain the wallet to keep it on the correct fork?

Only thing you can do when the issue is wallet maintanence mode is to keep hounding them to fix it.

Or convert Quark back to a different currency (ie DOGE) that is working, remove that, send the YYY to exchange#2 (ie BTER) and trade back to QRK, then withdraw QRK.  Since you get hit with multiple fees along the way would only do that if you think Exchange#1 is on the verge of shutting down and you don't want to risk waiting.

I thought about it, it is a good idea if you have some coins but not applicable for large amounts, in this case it will looks like dump and pump or will take more than couple of weeks, maybe more...

BTC38 just opened theirs Quark wallet ! Grin

Just Cryptsy left

good news ..... are cryptsy in the process?

If you look more deeply at some of the recent events, their new verification system, it is possible to understand why cryptsy do not want to update the wallet now. The are a lot of QRK there and alot of people who want to withdraw their coins...

Yes, I've had multiple problems at Cryptsy, give them your coins at your own RISK ...

We need an updated Android wallet.. The one that is available is on the old fork..

The android wallet was updated on Google Play.  Let me know if that helps.  The app may require a blockchain reset, if that is the case I have another update on its way with updated checkpoints.
