Yes, that site design is nice and I agree with both of you, the current logo is just fine and all it could need may be minor refinements. It is a no brainer that it should be kept.
Ive realized Quark needs to focus on more important things, at this point someone just needs to polish the current Quark logo and make it more appealing with maybe more of a metallic finish. The most important things the Quark community has to take care of are listed on here: http://quark.freeforums.net/thread/296/quark-community-project-development-teams and http://quark.freeforums.net/thread/246/quarkcoin-project-improvement-list

I start with the following:
1. An exchange (I'm currently working on an exchange that will make buying/selling QuarkCoin as easy as Bitcoin itself, but in the meantime, Cryptsy, Bter, and Coin-E are simply not options if we wish for QuarkCoin to grow. Their servers are slow; their interfaces need working; and liquidity is still an issue. Currently, there still is no option for direct exchanges between USD/QRK or EUR/QRK. There is only BTC/QRK or QRK/CNY. Not cool.)
2. Local Exchange. You know LocalBitcoins? We need a LocalQuarkCoins.
3. Faster wallet. There is no reason to download the whole blockchain. Think MultiBit. It's light. It's fast. QuarkCoin claims to be fast, yet it's still reminiscent of Bitcoin having to download the blockchain.
4. A new website design. There is a contest going on for a new QuarkCoin logo. One of the guys mentioned that the current logo looks dated. Well the same applies to the current website design.
5. Mobile app. No explanation needed.
6. A domain name that does not end in [dot] com. Have we learned nothing over the past 2 years?
7. Servers for the website & forums held outside U.S jurisdiction. Same reason as above.
8. A video that explains the pros of QuarkCoin, over both fiat AND other cryptos.
9. A social media presence. This will make people feel more comfortable getting on board. Even now, with myself heavily excited about QuarkCoin, I am bit cautious as to whether there is any forward development of the ecosystem. Has development stalled? Are there any projects in the works?
10. A project board. This way whoever wants to get on board developing something they can. This will also give people a sense that the community is active.
11. Meetups. This will not only help awareness of QuarkCoin, but will foster discussions pertaining to the challenges & advantages QuarkCoin has. Plus, you get to make new friends. Pretty cool.
12. Bi-annual release convention. No other crypto-currency is doing this. Yes, they have large meetups and conventions of some form or another, but think of the 6-month release cycle for Ubuntu. Every 6-months, the Quark community should host a conference like Google I/O, but with a Google Hangouts & Hackerspace type feel. All walks of life will feel free to come.
13. A wallet that can be installed on your computer, not one that you have to "run" every time to use.
14. Merge Quark Freeforums & QuarkTalk. Why have two discussion boards? Also, QuarkTalk feels as fast as "freeforums", but newer.
I encourage everyone who is interested in starting on one of these, to get in touch with the community. I am currently working on an exchange. If anyone wants to lend a hand do let me know.
