I've added the config file exactly as it appears in the OP and I now have a number of connections
as my config file is like the OP should I still use setgenerate true -1? or should if leave off the -1?

In case you haven't read the previous posting the "hashespersec = 0" always, even when it is synching. this is not an accurate measurement for hashing power. look at cpu power

Usually you have to wait 1-5 minutes to get a hashpersec result, just be patient.
Passed 10 min and it's still at 0. What could be the problem?
