Firstly I like this rubies idea it's got potential. If we choose to be a stakeholder and the 40 are not filled yet do we get the full 80% of btc income or 1/40? Trying to see if it's better to get in early and catch March payment. Many of us been waiting for this feature for months glad it's alive.
We have discussed this matter before launch and if I remember correctly, the decision was that even if there are less than 40 holders, 80% of profits will be divided between those holders. However, I'm the dev and Bjorn is the business guy, so his final word counts; as such, please wait for confirmation from him before taking this statement as fact.

All player betting that takes place after Rubies launches will earn 30 Rubies for every 1BTC wagered (only BTC activates the volume and earnings) | We are calling this method of distribution "Bet-Mining" as this will be the initial way to obtain coins. Once you have coins investors and players are welcome to stake your Rubies in your personal wallets to earn more after the coins mature for at least 12 hours.
Contest, giveaways, will allow more rubies to be obtained. Once rubies is on coin exchanges you can trade them as well.

edit: We will be tweaking the Bet-mining code to allow for it to distribute like this 1/10 : 0.2 BTC = 6 RBIES | 0.3 BTC =9 RBIES | ... until they hit 30 RBIES.
This will be upgraded today when devs start working.

This coin is niche targeted but sad to say not every one can get in this coin,If you are not into gambling can you still have this coin and what other uses does this coin can bring to holders?
Once Rubies reaches exchanges you can purchase them from there, as well as contests, campaigns, and bounties for work done to promote growth. Our site is offering investment with revenue dividends as well in the Stakeholder option which we felt would create strength from long term holders. We do not expect or want people to gamble them all, it just gives an instant use-case for Rubies, and provides a vehicle of coin distribution at the start. Over 3000 people from the digital currency community already own Rubies and once they see this has launched then the rest of the ecosystem should follow.
As for other uses, they like any currency, can be integrated into businesses and other casinos as a store of value. Just keep in mind this is just the distribution phase and as we build a community then more services can grow into other uses. We have many contacts with other business owners and will work hard to facilitate a strong coin for everyone to feel confident about holding.

i like this concept, the only thing for me is that a user will need to bet mininum 1btc to even touch a rubie ;\
for small time gamblers (me) and especially those in countries where btc is worth more this could be a high entry-point
(btc is almost double value in my country, currently just under 600$ per coin)
maybe a scaling system where users could earn AS they bet? chop up the 30 rubies into where every 0.033ishBTC 1RBIE is rewarded?
either way im watching this one, like the concept, best of luck!

Well the Bet-Mining is volume based, so you just have to wager the equivalent of 1 BTC of volume to unlock 30 Rubies for you to play or withdraw them. I've seen people take 0.001 or 0.0045 btc and make 1-4 BTC of volume. It's really just volume that you need to do, and some strategies will make this relatively easy for players.
Stats so far after ~2 hours of launch for Rubies is: 24hrs: Bets: 66,209 Wagered: 19018.7333 RBIES
Please play conservatively while we build the ecosystem around Rubies and markets etc. Staking is a solid option for now.

You could always gets some rubies from playing at the site as well. For every 1 btc wagered you got rubies as well so why not take your chance to get sme rubies while trying to multiply your bitcoin? besides that betterbets.io is not new in the gambling industry as they are one of the best sute around, check their site with your eyes and you will know why
