Saturncoins regardless of what your stated intentions are it is your actions over the past months that has killed this coin and there is 0 future for it now, Dev is the root cause of that.

What we were promised was a smooth, transparent transition to PoS w/Multi-Pool to support and other great surprises.

What we got was three bungled attempts at an update to decrease the block size, devs and long time core supporters supposedly playing musical chairs behind the scenes, a complete alienation of the last two remaining large pools so that they close down leaving next to nothing to support the remaining PoW phase; this of course causing a dramatic drop in network hashrate leaving the coin open to attack or forking at any moment and a dev with tons of empty promises speaking of all the wonderful things to come and giving us absolutely 0 follow up on those promises.

Last week you said you had a big announcement that you would likely share the next day, 4 days later when you finally post back in the thread not a peep about that announcement but you did take the time to go back and edit it out of your original post.  Yes, too busy to pop in once in a blue moon to give us an update on the coin development status but not so busy you can't go back and edit posts from a week ago where you promised big announcements.

This thread is dead now, tumbleweeds dead, and the coin is near dead hovering over 1 Satoshi, where do you think it will be in 50 days when the coin is ending PoW and you might finally decide to do some of the PoS conversion you promised 4 months prior or anything beneficial towards this coin's future; thus far I have not seen you do a single thing but type real pretty sentences amounting to nothing but empty promises.

This is the Crypto World, not the Real World, the same rules do not apply here, timelines are compressed, but in either world you should be told to pack your stuff and GTFO.

That's just someone asking a question to Sunny King..

All known (potential) security issues that come with PoS will be accounted for.

Dev, what about further development of Saturncoin?

Please read the last couple of pages of the thread - everything was explained in detail Smiley I'd be happy to address any specific questions.

Thanks for the update. I think we would all benefit from a little more communication, however.  Even just dropping in here and saying "hello" every couple of days would really help people who fear abandonment.

I understand, and you're right about that. But please also bear in mind that our highest priority is to get the transition to PoS worked out, and there's a lot of work involved with that. Sure we could be spending our time chit-chatting, but that would not be very productive while we need all hands on deck to make all the preparations.

Also, please keep in mind that we are just people like everyone else here. It's not like our developers are on a payroll. Like most coins, this is a community driven project. This "Saturncoins" account mainly serves for official announcements and statements. The community, that's all of us. With that said, if anyone feels a need to contribute, then what's keeping you? Smiley

That being said, I'm with you on not posting news for news sake. I'm a pretty major holder of saturncoin (roughly 2% of all coins) so I would love some hype, but I totally understand the desire to actually create something along side profit.

Surely, the value of the coin is important. All I was saying is that we're not going to create any fake hype (which usually gets followed by FUD). We will most certainly be looking at a much greater marketcap as we roll out the work that's currently in progress, and we're aiming high. Very high. We're just not going to be a one-day-fly that makes a quick rise and fall.

Good luck, there are still a few of us rooting for you!

Thank you Smiley And as for "a few": I can very much assure you that we don't just have a "a few" supporters. Many of our supporters are not that loud in public.

The blockchain is not moving once again!!! http://213.179.192.162/chain/Saturncoin not loading. Do something pls.

As stated by GatorJMT: that was indeed a typo in the OP, the correct link is http://213.179.192.62/chain/Saturncoin - this has now been corrected in the OP too. Thank you for pointing that out.

As for "the blockchain is not moving": I'm not sure what you based that on, but the blockchain has not stopped moving at any point. I suggest you check the block explorer and see for yourself. It does indeed sometimes happen that a block takes a bit longer or shorter than the previous block, as this is dependent on the hashrate and the difficulty. If the hashrate suddenly goes up, a block will take less time to solve, but this gets adjusted by the next block which will have a higher difficulty. And the exact opposite happens when the hashrate goes down.

Appears the chain has started moving again after stopping this morning

Could you point out when "the chain stopped moving this morning"? I don't see anything like that at all. Did you perhaps mean that your wallet was not in sync? If so, I would suggest adding the addnodes to your saturncoin.conf as specified in the OP.

Dev logged in but no response in thread to current situation, what's going on?

What "current situation"? There is no situation. The blockchain is working just fine - the only issue was a typo in the block explorer URL in the OP.

We have pointed this out before, and I will repeat this once again:

  • The approach for the transition to PoS has been explained in detail.
  • Announcements will be made when there is actual news to be reported.
  • We will NOT make announcements just to create hype. So stop asking.

An example of what I am referring to:

I dumped all my SAT there is nothing here dev keep promising stuffs since 2 months but nothing is done and they never post update.

I'm going with XLB and already did 100%, sorry dev but I was holding for more than 3 months and nothing has change.

This is a clear example of someone who is simply here to try and make a quick buck. Sure, he bought a coin, and doubled up, congrats. Does that support the coin in any way whatsoever? I don't think so. Does that serve anything but his own interests? Nope.

We surely are NOT going to be posting news for the sake of helping impatient people make a quick buck. There are plenty of other coins that are basically nothing but one-day-flies: they launch, they hype, the dump, game over. If that's the game you're interested in, maybe you should look elsewhere. We're here for the long haul.

Needless to say: for those who have legitimate questions or concerns, we'd be more than happy to address them. If you think there's an issue with the blockchain, we'll address it. If you have any questions about our plans, feel free to ask (although please do first read previous posts). But if you're only here to ask us to hype some good news to make a quick buck, then don't expect a response.

Our developers have been very busy with the development of the new chain, as well as the preparations for the transition. We have decided to not disclose a detailed roadmap yet, simply because we first want to have the essentials ready to go. We're not in a rush and rather do things right than making the same mistakes the original devs did. Releasing a timeline prematurely would only lead to unnecessary pressure, as well as the potential for this timeline to be changed if something unexpected comes up. At this point the genesis block of the new chain has already been mined and devs are actively testing it (for the less tech savvy amongst us: that means it's almost ready).

At least I did solve one mystery, appears they fat-fingered the IP of the block explorer in the OP, correct address is http://213.179.192.62/chain/Saturncoin.

Appears the chain has started moving again after stopping this morning, did some quick math and based on 10k block reward at 80 secs a block that puts us right at 50 days until it reaches the stated PoW goal of 7,777,777,777 coins.  This coin is soon to be 1 SAT and with the paltry current volume in 50 days we will be lucky to be trading in the litoshi market and not completely delisted from exchanges like MintPal.

Oops I fucked up with the update, working on tons of things at once made a simple honest mistake

https://github.com/chrisfranko/Saturncoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L900

is supposed to be if not an else if. So we can do a couple things here, we can either gloat in our misery or change it to an if , orphan a couple blocks and move on. What does everyone want to do?

So if Saturncoin official dev account can't give us the simple respect of responding or speaking to the current broken state of this coin can defaced be bothered to offer an explanation?

I'd laugh if I weren't a huge bagholder.  Screw it, I'll laugh anyway, this is funny stuff. Cheesy

Same.  I've lost almost 5BTC holding out on Saturn.  My holdings are worth around 1BTC now so I figure screw it, what's 1 more.  Not like there's enough volume to get it out anyways so I guess I'm along for the ride.
