Most of the nodes on saffroncoin.conf will be gone by December 2016.

I'm not renewing those servers.

for your info.

Thanks g1itch for the extra pools, I stopped researching new ones and just started removing the ones that were dead from my year old list of pools. I will include them next time.

The continuously moving date of removal from Bittrex is the same thing that happened throughout the whole of 2015 too, always empty threats, never gets removed, the removal date just keeps changing. The only time it ever got removed, Rosh appeared from nowhere and had it put back again within a day back in 2015 when we were in this same situation. He seems to have a relation with someone at Bittrex, as mentioned a few times, SFR is one of the few coins which are "verified" status at Bittrex, showing a good relationship at at least some point in time.

This is nothing new basically, but the price collapsed accordingly nonetheless.

Hello!

There is a pools for SFR not mentioned by Sku.

Sha256:
ispace.co.uk
infernopool.com (needs testing)
tompool.org

Blake:
yiimp.ccminer.org

Scrypt:
tompool.org
e-pool.net

x11:
Spots-Cube-Prime (I could not get it working, maybe ASICs needed)

Tommo now is experiencing a power outages, so Tompool may be unstable.

I mined SFR on scrypt with low hash rate several days and the difficulty goes down.

Not sure why you bothered doing this. Roshan clearly left SFR and I'm not sure why I am still following this thread. He didn't do one simple thing: contacting Bittrex support to fix the issue. Being "busy" doesn't justify his actions.

/thread

Roshan did contact Bittrex, this is why the message changed. And just for the record if prices hold around 50-ish, I will buy 1 BTC worth of it before the 30th to create the needed volume.

I think that Bittrex said it will delist SFR on September 23th, but they didn't (though they delisted some coins), which means that they are still giving a chance for SFR. Here is their latest statement:
https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/228092228

Saffron is among the coins, which will be removed, but they are not saying that they will disable the market for sure.

Yes, looks like they may still delist it but are giving a little longer to see if trading activity picks up or the dev gets in touch.

where is the source code for the 2.6.2 wallet? all i could find was for 1.4.2

it seemed selfish not to post the links here given there are probably others who wanted to at least withdraw funds from Bittrex.

Yeah, sure, I get your point.

Yeah, I don't know if he contacted Bittrex or not, but I'm guessing he didn't or he would've posted about it here, unfortunately. It's possible he may not have signed in to read the thread or Twitter and may not know for all I know.  India is a great case for crypto adoption and I've always sort of assumed that he'd presumably planned to use Throughbit as a way to introduce SFR to the masses at some point.  Undecided

Anyway, I just sort of got into detective mode after noticing the network did seem to be (slowly) working looking at the explorer, yet my client wouldn't get even one connection. Seemed like it was an out of date client being rejected when trying to connect, so that led me to figure out how to download the Windows version and after I'd ended up doing all that, it seemed selfish not to post the links here given there are probably others who wanted to at least withdraw funds from Bittrex.

Edit:  is it just me, or did the "may be delisted by" message on Bittrex change from Friday the 23rd to Friday the 30th? Maybe they're giving it a little reprieve or did I misread it before?

I've followed Saffroncoin since around when it launched and have always liked the coin even if it seems to have been dead for a while.  I saw the delisting notice and did some checking and found my Mac wallet would not sync so I checked the website for a newer client but the site doesn't load and the download links in the OP don't work for the same reason.

However, I did a little digging on archive.org and found you can view the site here:

http://web.archive.org/web/20160505232007/http://saffroncoin.com/

and this led me to an archived download link for the current Windows wallet, which does sync and is working just fine.  This link should work for you if you want to download a working client:

http://web.archive.org/web/20160505232007/http://saffroncoin.com/saffroncoin-wallet-windows-2.6.2.zip
virus scan:

I also created a mirror download link you can use here:
http://saffroncoin.s3.amazonaws.com/saffroncoin-wallet-windows-2.6.2.zip

and the virus scan results of course:
https://virustotal.com/en/url/06abf4ed255b67e9f2be1fc5aff39c70230562540a2bf5807b13e65402ff226f/analysis/1474276905/

Hope that helps!

Why say that blockchain is not operational? Yet it is.
Who wants the death of SFR ...
(SFRDEV) since it seems not to be interested now.
Or bluff to manipulate the price.
In all cases these players make their reputation.
Now Caution!

Looking for shmexy coins!
This market will be removed on Friday, September 23rd 2016. The blockchain is no longer operational. If you would like to keep the market listed, please encourage the development team to contact us at [email protected].

There's still hope dev should contact bittrex immediately and help fix known issues on the blockchain.

There is no new block since 30 hours. Blake's blocks are almost only mined (but the wallet accept only 3 consecutive blocks with the same algorithm), this coin is probably dead Sad

I have tweeted to @sfrdev to ask for help. https://twitter.com/sfrdev

SFR Update
Updated: 09 September 2016

SFR the coin which just won't die for some reason. It's been 5 months since my last update, nothings happened at all, all but 1 remaining Blake pool has been taken offline, but the coin still works for some reason! Amazing.

Anyway, here we go with the latest update...

SFR Healthcheck

Algorithms and pools
Sha Healthy-ish.. Regularly generates blocks, however the last pool is now gone so it's solo mine only.
No Sha pools avaliable
Blake Healthy-ish.. Regularly generates blocks, still has a pool!
Pool: https://www.miners-pool.eu/#!/pools/saffroncoin
Groestl Not healthy. No one is mining, last working pool is now gone. Rarely mined, but diff is low.
No groestl pools avaliable
x11 Not healthy. Blocks are not being found due to high difficulty.
No X11 pools available
Scrypt Not healthy. Blocks are not being found due to high difficulty.
No Script pools avaliable

The great strength of multi-algo coins is that they are not dependent on only 1 hashing method. For instance, although 3 algorithms are in poor health and not mined, 2 have been in continuous good ok health since the coin was launched, meaning blocks still generate, the blockchain keeps moving, and transactions get processed. Multi-algo coins are extremely resilient and have always been under appreciated. Saffroncoin is probably the best one out there, despite the lack of progress from the dev in recent months years and a low price, it is still fundamentally a solid coin, designed by a skilled developer, and therefore doesn't die when it should have long ago.
