CryptoVote will no doubt provide a much clearer response... but afaik, the work he's been undertaking on other coins is proving to be a valuable learning experience. After exchanging messages with him he said (to the effect) that he's going to return to sling once that work is completed and apply that coding knowledge to improve Sling.

Can someone provide a faststartpack up to date, please?
I downloaded the one from "altblockchains" but sling seems to find a problem on block "751" so it's stuck 2 weeks ago.
I have connexions, but syncing doesn't work.

Blocks are taking FOREVER to download meaning new users (and old) must find it very discouraging.

Bitcoin solved that issue with something called headers first synchronization: https://bitcoin.org/en/glossary/headers-first-sync
We are currently adding that to DarkSilk and I will be able to do the same for Sling after the release.
