Where can I go to find the mining pool?

A while ago we mentioned how to use the donations from mining. You'll recall that it is hardwired that 45% of the coinbase goes to addresses which are currently handled by Education in a Suitcase (a non-profit dedicated to improving education in low-income regions).

This is now over 1 bn SMLY. The amount has not been touched and will not be touched unless the price of SMLY goes up considerably.

We need to discuss how best to use this. EIAS does need to support a few things:
  • Its own work, i.e. tablets, servers etc for schools in Kenya
  • Wallet development (no formal funds for this yet)
  • tutor-web development (esp Kenya-specific curriculum)
  • ...

It makes no sense to start selling SMLY unless the price goes up a lot and the volume allows selling. That's not happening now.

I propose that we select a number of large non-profit organisations such as the Malala Fund and get them to help us in getting more donors and investors - in return for a chunk of the SMLY donations (and a promise not to just dump it).

We've talked about the Malala Fund before and as I recall we got only positive comments. Other options would be UNICEF.

Comments?

More on this:

We should also discuss the following idea regarding the SMLY premine: Rather than keep the premine hidden away in cold storage we could set up a formal board of trustees (for lack of a better term) with access to a multisig address where the premine is stored. So we would view the remainder of the premine as a fund to be used for a specific purpose. A majority signature would be required to send SMLY from the fund.

The fund would still have pretty much the same functions as the present premine, i.e. support the tutor-web with an option to occasionally fund R&D projects. We should use the opportunity to spell out exactly these functions, e.g. with a percentage split into each category. We should also spell out exactly the maximum amount spendable per year.

Make it so.
We'll try -- just need to set up a formal board. More later.

This was well received by the SMLY community so we moved forward on it and we now have almost everything in place:

There will be a multisig address containing the remainder of the premine (about 15 bn SMLY). The result will be called the Smileycoin Fund.

A Board will be formally set up, with a very formal mandate. A transfers from the multisig address will only be in response to applications sent to the Board. Each transfer (grant) from the Smileycoin Fund needs to be signed (multisig) by two members of the 4-member Board.

Until now, most of the SMLY from the premine have been sent to the tutor-web wallet, where students can earn SMLY by studying. But in principle there is no reason to limit this to the tutor-web, so the new mandate will in principle allow the Board to accept applications from other freely accessible educational platforms. In addition, occasionally some SMLY have been transferred from the premine to special projects which support SMLY in some way. This will now be permitted to be up to 25% of the total grants each year.

The mandate has been read through by legal experts and proposed Board members have agreed in principle. What remains is to to some final checks on the multisig methodology, verify that we've got everything right and then sign the mandate, both on paper and digitally.

The Board members will be representatives of
  • University of Iceland, rector's office
  • Education in a Suitcase
  • Shuttle Thread Ltd
  • African Maths Initiative

Seems like your wallet has a problem. Take these two:
2018-11-13 00:26:25 CheckBlock() : prev block not found for 90948fd1daa35fd61915ff06f20c48c1f1cc807ab14a5b65aa5debf927858e9f. Ignoring...
2018-11-13 00:26:25 ProcessBlock: ORPHAN BLOCK 0, prev=41afbbf0e73cb780aaa6348879ecd10e05e240bd1f0ff1c710f65822d80049b4
These blocks are fine according to the block explorer but your wallet does not agree.

  • Make sure your wallet is up-to-date (recent version)
  • You need to restart the wallet
  • You may need to re-sync to the chain
  • You may need to rebuild the entire blocks database

Windows 7
I don't know anything about Windows  Sad

Under Linux you would go through and try the following ways to start the server (wallet), possibly looping through them...

  • stop the wallet
  • restart wallet -- if this works, stop and be happy Smiley
  • stop the wallet
  • take a backup copy of wallet.dat!!!
  • smileycoind --server --reindex

You could try adding specific nodes to the configuration file, smileycoin.conf:
  • addnode=130.208.71.203
  • addnode=217.175.119.126
- and then restart, maybe reindex, etc

Finally, only if nothing else works...
  • , delete all the block-files, blk00*.dat and repeat --make sure you have a backup of wallet.dat - or just the entire smileycoin folder!!!

thank you helped

Why is there no locking of the seed? There are 8 active combinations

Oh, come on, this is just the Google translate output which I already said does not make any sense:

https://translate.google.com/#auto/en/%D0%BFo%D1%87e%D0%BCy%20%D0%BDe%D1%82%20c%D0%B8%D0%BDxpo%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B7a%D1%86%D0%B8%D0%B8%20%D0%BAo%D1%88e%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BAa%20xo%D1%82%D1%8F%20ec%D1%82%D1%8C%208%20a%D0%BA%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%BD%D1%8Bx%20coe%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BDe%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B9

Please explain what you mean.

NO SYNCHRONIZATION ALREADY 3 DAYS

Again, please explain: What does THIS mean?

Look at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/smly/ and you will see that blocks are being generated.

Are you talking about a wallet? Your wallet? Which operating system, which wallet, ...Huh

I have 3998970.679 smily and I'm confused to fill out this 2 box

It looks like I need to put my amount in the first box but I have no a dear what the second box do

The second box looks like dropbox but nothing happened. What is this second box asking about?

And it is saying Please choose a lower fee. It sounds like it is to big amount but it is less than 1 million smilycoin

Or are you saying that this amount is low to transfer to novaexchange
If it says lower fee then you put in a high fee - or didn't have enough for the fee.

Just put in an amount to send, which is 1 SMLY lower than the total.

You need to read the text in every screen...it will tell you exactly what the full transaction costs you!!

It says that you don't have enough SMLY.

Did you account for the transaction fer?

The latter says that you don't have any. Have you checked the blockchain  explorer?
