With the fixing of the staking vulnerabilities and the publishing of the new white paper, spectrecoin has reached a new level of professionalism. Good work guys!
Still even with citex on board, there is still room for a big exchange  Wink

If the cryptopia xspec funds would get unchained, the liquidity would reach again levels of 2017.This ~3.4 million xspec in the fingers of the liquidators are maybe the biggest burden holding back spectrecoin from thriving, right now..
What you guys think?

I have some problem with the wallet.
With the latest wallet of Ubuntu version, I can't open it.
It says: "execvp("tor", ...) failed: No such file or directory"
How can I fix it?

Code:
sudo apt-get install tor

See the runtime dependencies here: https://github.com/spectrecoin/documentation/wiki/Install-Ubuntu

Nice! I really recommend using Bisq because it gives control to the users. If it would be possible to trade SPECTRE over Bisq that would be really cool because it would fully "close the cycle". Unfortunately Bisq requires users to be able to prove that they have sent the coins to the buyer. Not sure if that would be possible with SPECTRE? That would be pretty cool indeed.  Cheesy

The solution for the financial oppression that people living in India are under, is none other than SpectreCoin.

I want an army of SpectreCoinians marching forth to every India blog and forum and announce the freedom that SpectreCoin can give them.

Read about the slavery and oppression here:

Spectrecoin 3.0.10 has been released and is now available on [Github](https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre/releases)

This release fixes the Tor shutdown issue on Linux (https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre/issues/173) and the ‚Fake stake block spam attack vector‘ widely known since its publication on Medium: https://medium.com/@dsl_uiuc/fake-stake-attacks-on-chain-based-proof-of-stake-cryptocurrencies-b8b05723f806

Nice! Thanks to the development team for taking care of this issue!  Smiley

The article presented two vulnerabilities:
- Vulnerability #1: “I Can’t Believe it’s not Stake”
- Vulnerability #2 and the Spent Stake attack

Spectrecoin was never vulnerable to #1 and fixes now #2 with the following measures:
- Upon receiving a block before persisting to disc, it is checked that the UTXO or ATXO staked is not spent in the best chain.
- If the block received is part of a fork, all inputs of the forked chain are checked if they spent the staked UTXO or ATXO.

What is crucial for understanding the mechanics is that Spectrecoin since its inception accepts only staking inputs available in the best chain, this means a forked chain can never depend on inputs which have been created during the fork.

I have done many conversions, everything is working perfectly fine. Sometimes people just get confused because for the conversion you have to enter a Stealth address (not a normal one) even for SPECTRE -> XSPEC

I have tried SPECTRE->XSPEC conversion recently with no issues.Everything shows up just fine. On the coin control feature you'll see that a xspec address has created derived from the Spectre address. To see this you have to go to Send -> Coin Control(button on the top right) -> click select inputs. In this window click on the "+" next to your stealth address and you get this xspec address(es).

In "Wallet > Send > Balance Transfer" I want to move coins from private to public. But if sending the payment I get the answer
Quote
Error: Invalid Stealth Address. SPECTRE to XSPEC conversion requires a stealth address.

I do not use the default addresses, I use new created ones. Converting XSPEC (public) to SPECTRE (private) ran as expected. I can transfer private SPECTRE to the "Default Stealth Address" in "Balance Transfer", and the coins appear in the public XSPEC coin list. I do not understand this behaviour.
Generally, some kind of confusion.
I also have a similar problem.
I made it the same way as you, the coins went, but they are nowhere to be found. Private balance is empty.
Developers need to pay special attention to this moment.
And you need marketing, without marketing and entering new exchanges, the price will not grow.

If it's not a technical bug, at least it seems to be a usability problem. Someone should report this to the devs on Discord, or alternatively you can go here (https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre/issues) and file a bug report yourself, so that at least it will not be forgotten. Maybe one of the devs will get in contact with you and ask for additional info.  Smiley

Thanks for the list @Beachguy2!

I want everyone to be aware of the fact that there is someone who comes onto this forum thread and complains about SpectreCoin, but the advertising all over his post shows you that he probably is doing this to advertise the privacy coin he may be trying to pump. The complaints he gives I believe are not based on reality because no one else has the problems he complains about, or he is an extreme newbie who does not understand how to work his wallet or something similar. So be aware of this. I would not be posting this warning if such apparently unfounded complaining only happened one time.

There is simply NO REASON for Spectrecoin's value to be 0.01% of Bitcoin's current value.

WOW, that really puts things into perspective......  .01% of Bitcoin's value..... Unbelievable!!!

Thanks a million for this insight.

so soon we should see a rise ?

Unless you are a trader, who trades quickly in and out of a coin, I would not worry about the immediate price.  For me, this is a buy and hold for quite a while.
