overclocking the SP-20 will give you 26 $ / month more without counting the extra electricity that maybe vital in the equation overclocking or not.

Close, I was counting there 151 units ..  679.5 Th/s [x 0.082 BTC/day (eligius) =] or 55.7 BTC/day ~ $26,299.36 /day [when BTC/USD = $472 (btc-e)] while eating 10.872MWh electricity daily (in 24h).

Your numbers seem a bit off to me somebody please correct me if I am totally off here :

Assuming they got the hardware at a discounted rate say $2800 per unit (maybe a tad lower?) tha equals hard ware costs of $422,000  + $15000 in shipping costs for a total of $437,800 or 875 BTC.

using current calculators at current btc rate thats : $$5,867.14  assuming a low electricty rate of .08cents/kwh  thats around $811 electricity costs per day!

that brings in a profit of : $5,055.36 or 12 or so BTC a day.

thats about $151,660.8 per month a nice chunk of change.

you will have an earful from PCI-e "purists" who will say that PCI-e is supposed to handle just 75-150W. i am not one of them, but if I order Sp-20, I will be getting some of cablez creations (16 awg two pci-e to one port-V-shape connector)-especially if using evga 1300 (which has 8 connectors).
The customers will need to consult with the PSU manufacturer.
For example, for SeaSonic X-1050 XM each PCIe connector can handle up to 324 W

Apparently, EVGA 1300 also supports more than 300W power draw at each PCI-E connector
http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/54037-evga-supernova-1300-g2-power-supply-good-for-neptune
I think that it does NOT mean that split connectors can handle 600W, just the same ~300W or slightly more in total, which makes it suitable for SP-20.
EVGA1300 has 4 single PCI-E connectors and two double.
I would prefer EVGA or some other 1200W supply, because then you can overclock Sp-20 to 1.8Th.

Its whales like this that ruin the echo system for everyone , I'm hoping they at least bought thier hardware with BTC however i sincerly doubt it

I'd have some problems in wiring ~$600k to SPT .. just to pre-order (back in April). However, no issues in transferring 1500 BTC if I'd own double.

If you started mining early enough ... 2k BTC does not seem a lot (if you did not make the mental switch from $12 each, or less)  Grin

Probably a world record for hashing density.

Looks like about 2 Petahash / second or about $500,000 / month at today's difficulty

Really?
Top shelves: 9 x 3 x 2 x 4.5TH = 243TH
Middle shelves: 8 x 3 x 2 x 4.5TH = 216TH
Bottom shelves: 8 x 3 x 2 x 4.5TH = 216TH

Total = 675TH

I think mentioned before coupons are only for sp31 cant be used with other miners

that was before the existence of Sp-20 and Sp-35 (whatever this is) was partially revealed. In any case, you can always use cash rebate.

Due to a technical restriction the discount coupons are valid only for SP31. Should you choose to hang on to them for future products please contact us and we will replace the coupon.

I guess you'll need 3 x SP30 coupons to cover completely 2 x SP20 miners .. if I do the math right and if the SP20 price is somewhere around $1100 ..

Hmm so i,m sitting on 4 1300 watt gold rated power supplies from my previous scrypt mining operation which i parted out last month.

was tying to sell them on eBay but got tired of the stupid low ball offers.  They all cost over $200 and no one seems to want to want to pay more than $100

so decided to hang on to them.

Now since I am waiting for a sp30 august batch coupon and with the release of the sp20 looming it  , depending on the price with my PSU's sitting here it might be more cost effective for me to grab a bunch of sp20's since I already paid for all these PSU's.

any thoughts ?

I saw where Spondoolies-Tech SP20 was mentioned...

Thank you Guy and Corem!

CoinDesk: "Mining Roundup: New Viper Tests and Bitmain’s Debut Cloud Mining Service"
http://www.coindesk.com/mining-roundup-new-tests-viper-look-inside-bitmains-bitcoin-factory/

"In a recent conversation with CoinDesk, Spondoolies CEO Guy Corem noted that the move to data centers is good for the industry, but that companies need to do their part in contributing to the goal of a truly decentralized network of miners."

Corem said:

“We fight for the small guys. Small, capable miners. That’s what we’re trying to do and we support them.”

In preparation of the SP31 and SP35 ...

HA! Caught you before you could edit your posting!  Grin

SP35? Yeah, keep it coming!

Holy cow, SP is going to the moon! So we are now talking SP20, SP31 and SP35! Maybe there is finally something in the line which can actually make me reach a positive ROI with my 0.1093 €/kWh ~ 0.1415 $/kWh.

Damn Smiley
There is the SP3x line and the SP2x line.
The FW images will be same for all SP3x, and different for all SP2x.

Hi all
The line of SP30 will be renamed to SP3x in the SW.
SW version 2.3.43 will be the last SW release downloaded by machines identified as SP30.
After that it will request from SW update server SW for SP3x, and will be updated with 2.3.44 which is SP3x.

So till you updated to 2.3.43 you will not see any new SW releases in your SW upgrade menu.

and charging you 100$/kW/m in electricity.....

Huh Which isn't that far off seeing as it includes housing and maintenance.

exactly..why is $100kw/mo outrageously high, but $99/kw/mo-as great as it can possibly be (for some other hosting sites mentioned here).
I am not saying it is outrageous, BUT the combination of inefficient 1W/GH equipment AND rather high hosting costs of ~14ct/kWh is surely suboptimal.

With electricity already at 37% of revenue today, it seems very unlikely ROI can be achieved on these "hashnest" contracts.

When offering a managed mining solution, one would expect savings due to the economy of scales to be passed on to the customer.
This, aswell as very competitive power pricing in some locations of the world, would help both the mining provider aswell as the customer to increase their profit, while remaining competitive even longer.

As a side-note, Chinese electricity is amongst the "dirtiest" in the world, with really high CO² emissions aswell as other, hugely polluting substances (due to mostly coal-fired power plants).
In my personal opinion, one should try and mine with the least environmental impact possible, utlizing a maximum of renewable (and often cheaper!) electricity sources, whenever possible.

Extremely low cost and effective deployment method. Behind the SP30s are huge fans.

Credit: Cowboyminer mining cooperative.

I'd hate to be the one that paid that invoice. If he's not getting free electricity it is a tough pill to swallow. UNLESS Mr. Cowboy got such an exceptional price from buying so many. It is kind of cool seeing so many of them together. He must of took out all the marijuana plants and lights and started a bitcoin venture. Smiley

interesting offering. We will see if the price can come in line. Needs to be sub 1k to sell in any quantities.

price should depend on when it starts shipping.
