Lol KnC doesn´t even provide a reference design for those chips.

I wonder who will buy them and spend money on building a PCB and drivers, to get a 1.2W/GH miner.
(Price was quoted for Neptunes including PSU.)

Better just buy AM BE200 chips, reference design is free, power consumption is lower.

Why not some October Rockerbox chips? Or wait for the Pickaxe?

Pretty cheap those KNC chips might be a few people willing to push boards out the door considering the price is very low. Again gotta board ready to drop them in?

Does your project have one?

Nope. You'd have to have a good reason to work with that chip given the issues KNC had with it.

Also, we know Bick's projects will never see the light of day so of course they dont have one.

I had a similar issue with an sp10 today.

It was mining for over 3 months (and about 2 months at that datacenter) and got stuck somehow.

After the DC power cycled it, everything is working as usual.

This hasn´t ever happened with that miner in over 3 months, so I guess a small crash once in a while is no big problem (your desktop PC probably crashes more often than that, and it isn´t on 24/7).

Anarchy is not chaos.
BTC-e flash crash to $370 just now
And this belongs in this thread how?

Get a life collider. Just because you paid silly big bucks for one of the first SP30 machines doesn't make you the arbiter of good taste …

Why don't you go report me to Daddy ?

~L)L~

Yeah, Collider, what are you thinking? Don't you realize *I* am the arbiter of good taste?

But hey, I can't say this guy has bad taste, because that would imply he has taste. He's not tasty.

It is somewhat relevant, though, that BTC has crashed rather heavily. Given what the machines are for. I don't see it as a long term trend, and I doubt that other serious miners do either. Cuz if you look at it, those coins being dumped are NOT just sitting there, and the buy support is immense. Long term, it's likely a speed bump. Short term, it might discourage some of the higher powered miners, dropping the diff or slowing it's rise down, and give you guys a better shot at positive ROI.

Hard-reset brought my SP10 back to life. Thanks Collider and Zvisha for help.

@Zvi: Do you think I have to worry about my miner, or this just happens sometimes?

Thanks again guys, appreciated!

Are the SP50's based on the Pickaxe?  I am definitely going to buy one of those.  When are they going to be announced?

I wonder if 'Pluto' will be announced first.  What about S4?  This should be a good contest in view of the newest bitcoin mining parameters.  Who will win?

Emails are being responded to very slowly or not at all thus the concern
Well, if everyone of the 200+ groupbuy customers is sending emails asking about their shipping date, I am sure it is causing a backlog.

There are also obviously requests with a higher priority, aka technical support requests, changing of shipping information etc. that need to be addressed first.

I don´t know why everyone wants a more exact date all of a sudden. Knowing the date won´t change when it will arrive...

I have a groupbuy sp30 myself and I haven´t bothered asking, as I know the unit will ship when it is produced and ready to go.

Again, if you have a valid order, why don´t you just email spondoolies-tech with your order ID and kindly ask when your unit is scheduled for shipping?

I am sure it will be much easier to get your shipping date from a public forum, where spon needs to guess your order number, and whether you actually have an order.... \sarcasm

That table is rifled with inaccuracies if not outright lies.

All my sp30s do 0.66W/GH

But please, go ahead, buy KNC hardware.

At ~2$/GH, I am sure you will ROI fast.

Even the power consumption for the BF3500 is completely wrong, Bitfury states 0.785W/GH for that piece of hardware.

Either the guys at KnC had their intern plot that table, or they lack basic understanding of numbers.

Cripes $2 a gh/s? Sheesh seems pretty steep.

Then again? http://www.bcoinnews.com/knc-miner-sells-28nm-chips-loss/

Got any boards kicking around to drop em in?

I wanted to know if anyone here knows about the pricing for bulk quantity. What are the minimum amount for it to be considered as 'bulk'.

E-mail sales@

Show me a single SP30 which is producing 5.5 - 6.5 TH

After you will show me one that is doing 4.2TH!

Quoting lies from KnC tells me that you are not an intelligent person. You can't filter the information. Show me a single SP30 that is pulling 3200W from the wall please.

That's rich … Collider is the arbiter of good taste and RoadStress is the arbiter of intelligence. Where is the guardian of the Queen's English (Raskul) when you need him ? ~L)L~

Power supply okay?

Have you tried the hardreset?

It is in the Data center. Cant try it till morning EST.  Cry

It looks like the i2c bus is not working properly.
It can be fixed by a power cycle usually.
Please try a full power cycle - if it`s not helping open an ssh tunnel for us so that we can look.

It is not possible to physically unplug and plug the miner in before the morning EST. But I can PM you the SSH credentials, if you would be so kind and try to help me Smiley

EDIT: PM sent

I will wait for you to do power cycle before investigation.

@Zvisha: Thanks, will let you know.

@Bicknellski: Do you read before you post, or just having fun?

Fun. I.T. Crowd. Just thought of the show when you and Zvisha were going back and forth... Classic. Wasn't serious at all.

Also do you think Spoondooiles will work on a new machine for an October release?
There will be a revised version of the sp30 with 5.5TH at 3000W, as per spondoolies previous statements.

As for the bulk pricing, I am unsure whether there will be much of a reduction, as their miners seem to sell like hot cakes.

I am sure Guy will be able to answer questions in relation to bulk pricing vie email though (I do not suspect amounts of under 10 units will fall under that category though).
