I just bought my first spondoolies miner (SP31).I wonder what is the latest firmware for it. 2.6.14 is currently installed.I did some googling but I didn't find any useful information. Sorry for my stupidness.

Yes, that is the current firmware

Did you try to reduce power to all chips, reduce fan and see if fourth loop revitalizes itself.
It did happen to me upon similar situation.
I power cycled the second unit, with no changes to any voltage settings, and it came back up with all loops hashing. I'll keep an eye on it, and lower the voltages if/when the next time it decides to weird out on me.
Ok, it's official. It's the controller board. RIP LOOP[3]. It was a good loop.
Whoring self out for replacement SP20 controller boards...

Well, seems some of these SP20 controller boards have an unfortunately limited life. Have a second unit that has LOOP[3] failing on it as well.

FML.

I had two controllers die on me as well, but they failed in a different way.  One kept throwing errors when starting cgminer, even when booting from SD, the other just stopped giving a web interface at all.  Tried flashing with factory firmware, various versions etc, but finally had to accept that they were dead.

At least the hashing boards seem reliable, if only someone would find a way to run these on pis or something...

Hi Guy ,
Can you please inform about SP future plans / miners ?

ps

i really want to buy a miner in israel  Grin

They are working on next gen chips.  Thats all we really know for sure.

They possibly might be only selling to big buyers.... lots of us hoping little guy's can still buy one.

Has anyone tried 2x psu of different brands and wattage?

Currently running on a RM1000 but i need more power. i got an offfer for an old antec 850watts for 10us

was thinking to run 2x pci-e of each and boost more ghz, is this safe to do ?

Make sure both power supplies have the same ground and good contacts for pci-e cables.

I have no ground on my connections, i got a 25 amp at wall 230v .

Edit: i just tried whit another 1000w coolermaster on it, but it just shut down and one side keeps running after like 5 mins

Interesting:

electronics changing into more efficient weylionics?
I wonder how long it would take?
Quote
One of the biggest finds is that, using Weyl fermions, the researchers will be able to create fast-moving electrons with no risk of backscattering, or loss of electrons in a collision. Backscattering makes electronics less efficient and creates heat. Weyl electrons are able to avoid collisions and eliminate backscattering.

Essentially, what this means is that the Weyl fermions could provide a better flow of electricity and assist in the creation of more powerful and efficient electronics, especially in computers.

No, it's coming from me via standard ground.  The issue is that shipping from TX to Canada just is really expensive via USPS/FedEx/UPS.  Come to think of it, I never checked DHL, perhaps they'd be more reasonable...

USPS is typically the best for US-Canada shipping.  Did you bring the packaged blade to the PO to confirm the rate? I'm surprised it wasn't around $20-30, I have had several items shipped to me from family in FL in the 2-3 lb range for ~$20

under 6 pounds you can do lower with the post office over 6 pounds it cost more.  if i recall  the cutoff may be 5 not 6 pounds.

once it weighs more you have to use more costly methods.

6 lbs on the dot.

yeah that means no first class mailing via US postal  you need to do  flat rate  and that is about 55- 60 .  I may have a link for a long flat rate box.

https://store.usps.com/store/browse/productDetailSingleSku.jsp?categoryNavIds=shipping-supplies%3aflat-rate-shipping&categoryNav=false&navAction=push&navCount=0&productId=P_GB_FRB&categoryId=flat-rate-shipping

this box is the longest flat rate box it is 23 inches by  11 by 3  .  the blade you have is 15 inches long.  so it is 56.75 online price to ship in that box .  if you do medium flate rate no box fits it.

the hell is this? goes away after reboot. comes back... every few days or so...

too much dust? is underclocked to ~2.9th and all temps show 85C

What is your starting voltage?
