So, I've been running the unit pretty much non-stop for the past 9 days, it's working with no problems.

On turbo it gives 1.5 TH/s, but most of the day I run it on silent giving 1.35 TH/s.

The objective is to get the machine up and running ASAP, what could it be 1 or 2 or 3 days to generate coin to cover the cost of freight?

Just checked most shipping options quickly

1. FedEx 2 day service is indeed 800 dollars, no slower service offered than that

2. UPS does have slower service, cheapest is 7 day delivery for 600 dollars

3. Israel Post Office Air Mail cheaper at 300 dollars but no indication how long, (guess 2 weeks?)

Do the math, get it immediately and start mining, or save a few scrap dollars up front and lose 2 weeks worth of mining.

https://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home?cc=IL&language=en
https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc/request?loc=en_IL
http://www.israelpost.co.il/npostcalc.nsf/Calculator2?OpenForm&L=EN&menu=10&hidec=5

On average, without power costs, 1.4 TH/s should make ~64$ per day.

And dropping Sad

are any of you customers cost basis lower than KNC or bitfury?  goodluck watching the price of bitcoin get hammered while you wonder who on earth could be selling coins so cheaply

Hi All,

I just published part one of my review;-

http://mineforeman.com/2014/03/28/review-spondoolies-tech-sp10-dawson-part-one/

Out of necessity I am doing the full review as a three parter, I just have not had enough time to dissect the OS so you can expect more from me soon.

Neil
Neil,

This was my favourite bit, not sure why Tongue

First, you may wish to have a look at Dogie’s review on BitcoinTalk, he has done a tear down of the miner and has quite some expertise in the physical characteristics of hardware and I am not going to try to replicate his findings.

I believe in giving credit where credit is due, I follow your posts and hardware reviews and your knowledge of tin far outstrip's mine (I am an OS/systems/usability guy after all Tongue ).

I am considering to rename the "silent" mode to something closer to the truth. But then "silent mode" is already used in the forum.

  Huh

Not quite quiet mode  Wink

If you know someone who's traveling, you can ask them to bring the devices with them.

A combination of reasonable hosting and self shipping after a period just might work.

shipping cost wont change. If $800 to ship a $4000 device now seems high, why would you want to pay $800 to ship a ~$2000 device in 2 months time?

Do you mean to QUOTE "Ex-Works"...which is "price without shipment"...price at your factory...correct...?
Yes. Arrange the shipment yourself from our DC after one day burning-in test, or from the factory after Flextronics QMS tests

Why do you charge the same price for a early April unit as a May unit?

Ouch guys, I was finally ready to pull the trigger on the SP10 pair, but I can't justify the $800 shipping cost. It would have been better if you'd priced the set at $8499 with $300 shipping. Too big a sticker shock for me, I ended up just letting the order expire.
Fast shipment of 2 X 14KG is expensive.
We'll be happy to ship Ex-Works and charge only for the miners, not the shipping.

These Israeli  guys are very smart. If they are also greed, we all lose in this game. We just take all risks for them!

Keep it to yourself, idiot.
