Clueless!
@Inside Bitcoins NYC, Guy's panel on now, does not sound like Spondoolies will be offering consumer products any longer...

does this mean they are going 'completely private' like KNC with their 16nm tech? By this I mean ....no equipment for others
just for use in their current endeavor...no B2B product as well as the expected no 'consumer product'?

Basically you needed an investor.

I would have liked better for you to use preorders to finance your next gen chips.

And give dogie satisfaction? Nah...

Interesting times ahead! When can we have some more teasers?

@Inside Bitcoins NYC, Guy's panel on now, does not sound like Spondoolies will be offering consumer products any longer...

Is there a livestream or recording available from the conference?

It's over for today, not sure about a live stream.

There was a decent presence from various mining companies in the exhibit hall:

Bitmain
Genesis Mining (cloud)
Lightning ASIC (although they were displaying ATMs, not ASICs)
VerneGlobal (44 acre datacenter in Iceland)
And a couple others...

And the mining panel was interesting, but short...

Mainly talked about mining consolidation, efficiency (cheap power+efficient ASICs), and cloud mining operations. (side note: Marco Streng disclosed he believes the majority of cloud operators are scams, and that many are likely not even mining)

My take from Guy was that he believes mining consolidation is inevitable, and that Spondoolies is better off mining with the equipment it produces than selling it to a consumer.  Through the merger with BTCS they will manufacture and mine with their own equipment, rather then selling it. (this is my take on what he said, I'm sure he will clarify if I missed anything)...

Not sure if you recall the announcement Guy made a few weeks ago in this thread, new machines are big, not really suitable for home miners when you need 12-16Kw to run one of the new machines.. I suspect with margins shrinking the overhead of supporting small home customers simply isn't something that can be tolerated, with that said Spondoolies has not gone the way of KNC, I don't see pre-order financing, delayed shipments to self mine, and shipping of used miners as new...

You have right in the hardware part, they didn't screwed up customers.

I wanted to point to self mining and only B2B contracts....

But first we have to clarify what home mining is...

With 1-5w, 5-10kw .... etc.

Will they sell one 12kw miner if somebody willing to buy 1 or have to buy 5, 10, 30 pieces?

If they will come when their new gen stuff is ready and tell us: hey guys we have stock, you can buy it but you'll need at least 15kw to run it. <- This is not the Knc road.

Or

On the other hand: We have new gen, we start self mine at our 10Mw mining hall but we can sell you miners if you buy at least 1MW. <-Somewhere at Knc road.

I hope you got what I wanted to say...

I can get 12-16Kw if needed I have 100 amps for pretty much mining.  I hope they do come out with more consumer products or at least offer the commercial ones to us small miners.

How is the panel going?

I also hope that they'll consider selling a few to home miners, or perhaps give one away to a great organization for an independent review.  Tongue

What I dont get is, you dont take a cut from genesis mining you guys support with?

Or is the cash flow not enough or not getting any attraction for cloud mining since that itself has a bad rep.

I`d assume youd make a decent cut to make new gen chips based on the partnership you have with them, giving them business.

If they ever did a pre-order concept, I think most will jump on due to earned trust.

But, at the same time feeling shitty due to past history. So overall the pre-order shouldnt even an option just to see, if they funding for new gen chips, they should seek a VC type of deal.

I think most would agree pre-orders are looked down upon.  If they are able to do mergers in which help SP I'm all for it.

They make a great product I would love to see them prosper.

Interesting...just a LOI for now, though. It is also not clear from the release how the equity will be split.
Is Bitcoinshop the only public bitcoin company at the moment, apart from GBTC etf?
My take is this: if the combined entity will recapitalize and move to Nasdaq-it will be super positive for everyone.
On OTC in a penny land-not so exciting as most companies linger in a penny state forever.
On the technical side: dual use machines?
