Anarchy is not chaos.
Overmoderation again. Especially in a SELF MODDED thread. Someone doesn't want STech thread bumped but they tend to ignore that in Bitmaintech or Avalon threads that predominate this section of the forum.

That's clearly aimed at me so I'll just make it clear; I haven't reported shit in here.

Is it just me, or is this thread shrinking? Could've sworn I saw it at 646 and 645 pages. Now it's at 644.

SPTech deleting posts?  That's odd...

MIght be mods. They've been deleting shit for no apparent reason in several places.

Maybe they're dumping posts from known spam accounts or something like that.

couple of mine were deleted. Humorous, nothing ugly or terribly off topic. Seemed random. In a self moderated thread, too. I'm dead certain the owner of the thread didn't do it, he was in on the jokes. And we're friends. Besides, when has BCT EVER deleted spam or scams?

The PM will say if its deleted by a moderator or the starter of a self moderated thread.

Yeah, I realized my error after I posted it Tongue They were removed by mods. Not this thread, and I'm no part of the "hate on dogie" crowd. I've found your reviews and guides useful, and got nothing personal for or against you.

I made a snapshot a while back (Feb 25th) to more easily find ASIC data and did a quick comparison - it's a bunch of random posts from random people going way, way back that are gone for the most part.

Here's the first one - still in Google cache as well - edgar's post here:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https%3A%2F%2Fbitcointalk.org%2Findex.php%3Ftopic%3D521520.140#msg5797893

is gone from the live thread:

Maybe you're right perhaps hardware manufacturers are working on new chips and keeping it under wraps. Suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

There just is not a huge upside of announcing for other companies how their R/D is going.   I think most will remain under wraps, until there is some kind of battle for market share.   And if they decide to keep all chips, there never would be a reason to tell outside world.

I personally hope to see them selling 240 gear again one day to public.

It there anything official from Spondoolies to whether they will be supplying hardware again? I've scanned through recent posts on this thread but can't find any answers.
They recently posted they still have RockerBox chips for sale: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11259961
If you're adventurous, you could build a miner around that yourself (it's a BGA, datasheet behind NDA, etc.); Miner Edge did: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/miner-edge-official-information-thread-1004552

A while before that, they also posted this:
Regarding hardware sales (miners, ASICs) and JV type deals (rev-share) it will be dependent on market conditions and will be on a selective basis.

Because I know people will ask:
Can you specify what market conditions would need to be in place for you to sell to customers who have the space and capacity to run 3rd gen hardware?
That went unanswered - might have gotten missed as they were doing the panel thing in NY.

pretty much the reason they won't answer is the answer..it just don't pay...I think they are going the way of KNC with their new partnership...now if the price
of BTC would go up our odds would increase...but me I'm only interested in a home miner and those days are past......

I'm starting to agree that perhaps hardware manufacturers have realised with current difficulty and bitcoin price its not worth investing into equipment for home miners. Or perhaps the current latest generation of chips are as efficient as 'affordable' chips can be produced. Taking them to another level just isn't cost effective.

There is really no reason for them to share their strategy.  Chances are they have spent good money looking into their options.  They know what is best for them, but sharing this might give competitors a look into their strategy they don't want to share.

If have a chip ready to go or even made, they might even be smart to sit on info.  Make them send them out and replace their own gear and get a head start at ROI.  And open up later to public to buy.

Or they could be doing complete opposite hoping to get more time out of their current gen.  Extra profit never sounds bad.

Fact is we most likely wont know.  And I still respect them not sharing info as I realize it's not in their best interest unless they come out with a product they want "buzz" for.

That's probably it. When accounts get nuked I thought it also deleted their posts, so longer threads like this one are susceptible to shrinking when posting is slow.

Someone probably deleted some of their posts on here after the terrible news of SPT no longer selling rigs and mining for themselves.

Pisses me off actually!!!

I can't think of anything missing right off the bat.   Looking at last few pages I don't see it.

If someone is I have no idea what it would be about.  Don't think there was any new info worth deleting.

So are Spondoolies going to be releasing new hardware or getting new stock of current hardware anytime soon?

Maybe Miner Edge bought up or reserved the last of their current gen chips?  Just coincidence that they ran out of stock close to around the same time that partnership was announced?

So does that mean they aren't going to supply hardware to the general public again and this partnership is purely a cloud mining venture?

Miner Edge plans to sell to anyone who wants to buy I'm pretty sure, but their form factor isn't conducive to the average home miner since it needs something like 6KW of water cooling.

Ah ok thank you I see why that would rule out home mining for most people.
