It's sad to see what used to be a good company neglect it's customers. Sell out all your kit and then neglect customer service  Undecided

Its not true, I still get immediate and effective response to my support emails. In fact just this week i had a sp35 that kept locking up and I opened up ports to allow support to remotely access the box to troubleshoot it.

Time to respond to first email: 15min (9pm Israel time!). Next morning (9am Israel time) request for port access and logs.

It has always been so with them. You just have to be aware of the time zone and working week differences and be polite and patient and you will always get a good response in my experience.

3 MORE days of silence from 'support'@

I find it odd.  They were very very active and supportive.  What is the nature of what you are needing done?

I hope to see them come back to where they were on forums every day posting.  But maybe they have shifted all focus on next gen.

They WERE, it is true!

I have been waiting for an SP20E board to be replaced for over a month.

at first it was sent out late and arrived on April 1st DEAD.

support@ apologised and said it would be sorted immediately.

days later i was told i must contact zvi first - because the board 'cant be dead'

i contacted zvi, he agreed it needed repairing/replacing

barbara disagreed, for weeks!!

then after i started reporting here, she re-agreed.

"send the board back, it will save time" - done....

weeks later -

'send the rig back, it will save time & we will ship you a fully tested 'new machine''' - done...

days later, silence.

Multiple ignored emails, 980 hrs downtime!!

It sounds like Barbara needs to go, clearly not technical and causing undue pain to customers. Maybe spons should hire some more technical support staff. Sorry for your pain, mate.

I am having some issues with my SP20 and hoping someone can help me out. I know it is a networking issue, but only my SP20 doesn't want to cooperate so I am posting here. So here it goes. I have had a Netgear JFS516 Switch set up in a closet space running 1 SP20 and 2 Ant S3's which is connected to my D-Link wifi router without any issues. I recently added a Netgear FS524 Switch which is fed from the same router into a different closet space. The SP20 now refuses to run, while the ants are still happy working away. There is no IP conflict from the newly added hardware connect to the new switch.

Things I have tried:
Disconnect the newly added switch then restart the old one.
Connect the SP20 to the newly added switch.
Connect the SP20 directly to the D-Link router.
(in all situations I get 6 yellow blinks and fan wind ups/downs)

When this first happened I brought the unit home and it refused to work on my home network (at that time there was no LED activity at both locations), did a restore on it, updated firmware and it ran fine all night. Took it back and it still doesn't want to run. Brought it home again tonight and it fired right up. I really don't want to drag this thing home again tomorrow and get that look from my wife which I am sure some of you are familiar with and needs no explanation.

Thanks for reading! Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

If you can help me fix this problem, I will have the unit mine for you for 1 week as a thanks. (1.5TH)

I hope your last statement is true, but I'm afraid they may build next gen for themselves.

Has anyone opened the case of a SP3x to clean the dirt with a vacuum cleaner??

i have.

though i used a stiff brush not a vacuum. Be very gentle on the fans.

I used a brush too and then a vacuum.
Also, remove the PSUs and use a blower to remove the dust but try not to blow directly on the fan.

one of my psu on SP30 was dead, so I placed a new psu

If I fireup both psu's (the org one that still works and the new one I have soldered) machine just start working and mining using all the ASIC's.

If I use only the org psu (either top or bottom position) the machine works only 50% wich is normaal.

BUT: if I only fireup the new psu the unit wont work.... the led on the controlboard dont show up.

My best gues is that the controlboard somewho dont see the second psu that I have add to it.

any idea? probably it doenst get any power as I have directly put the new psu to the hashing board.

This was to be expected, there are a lot of control lines coming out of the PSU, voltage, temperature, fan RMP, etc.
Since the controller is not getting any feedback it does not know that the PSU is there.
What you should do is to replace it with an identical PSU. If you can't get one from SP then try eBay. This PSU is a very common type.

Generic PSU will only work if you set 'generic psu'  flag in /etc/mg_generic_psu.  We had insisted on some bug fixes to the stock emerson fw. Without it you must use it as generic.  Ask on forum from people who did it.

I have edit /etc/mg_generic_psu to;
0:1 1:1

so he should see both psu's as generic

but still if I only hookup my own generic psu it doenst go live.... any other suggestion?

one of mine does this:

Quote
Cgminer died and restarted
22/04 14:46:32:Run time failed crutial ASIC 7 (can't enable)
22/04 14:46:32:restart_asics_full (disable asic while running)
22/04 14:46:32:Testing LOOPs (verbose=0)
22/04 14:46:33:Testing LOOPs done = ret=0
22/04 14:46:33:Restart ASICS done :)0

continuously, if i remember well

i limited the loop to 210w and is all fine. above ~220 it's restarting infinitely!

Anyone have experience asking spondoolies to ship the miner from their USA datacenter? It's been 10 days since I paid for the shipping and the miner is still in their hands, and plugged out. That's $120 out the window. Unacceptable tardiness.

Still nothing, this is ridiculous. 17 days since the miner should have been shipped, and no reply from support after three enquiries. Are spondoolies mining with my unit? At what point can I demand compensation for the downtime?

There's a mis-communication between Titan, DHL, and ourselves which we hope to resolve today. We will continue to update you.

Well? Still no updates..

Hi Grix,

We are working hard with DHL to solve this. As far as we understand from both DHL and Titan pick up has been scheduled. We will continue to update.
