While we wait for Georgem to give birth, some more information on DSDN white paper while I wait for some clarifications on one or two aspects of the Spreadwallet:

Abstract

Decentralization is a key defining foundational feature and benefit of block chains. As block chains grow in size the hardware, bandwidth and expertise required to keep nodes optimally dispersed and synchronized increases in complexity and cost. This poses risks to decentralization and therefore the integrity of block chains. To maintain the key characteristics of decentralized block chains, Blockchains As A Service (BaaS) is seen as a natural progression. High bandwidth BaaS nodes operated by third parties without needing trust to hold consumer or Enterprise grade data using Proofs of Service is proposed.  The addition of end to end encryption between nodes within common control on public and private block chain networks preserves privacy. This new approach creates the opportunity to launch Digital Services Digital Networks (DSDN) where anyone can run a block chain node for anyone else or any business with key performance requirements set at various price levels similar to any cloud hosting product but coupled with a service component.

very easy move ..... i sold all my spread a while a go i mined with my gtx 1070 ... god some 0.30 btcs (sold at 5250 satoshi)

made 2 rigs with 4 rx 470 for zcash

got now 56 mhs of  nvidia cards  pumping me  in around 1500 spread coins in day

AT CURRENT PRICE spread for nvidia more profitable tha zcash... zcash with 190 sol  earns les than 56 mhs of spread at current difficulty

nvidia for the moment need to eat from other alt coin.. brty and spread are very very attractive for nvidia miner at moment as difficulty dropped... im goin invest on spread soon.. hope price wont rise as miners of nvidia will dump HOPEFULLY 2000 satoshi / spread... then imma NOM NOM THOSE NICE SPREAD

Nodes That Serve
Miners are like mercenaries.
They will fight other king's battles (if he promises them enough loot).
But they return to their motherland eventually.

lol and i suddenly own more than 30 % of whole nethash Cheesy

That's really decentralized!  Undecided

This whole zcash thing definitely sapped our miners away. I don't even know if mining SPR at these prices is very profitable - is it?

i cannot tell a lie,
i got sapped.
i had to jump on the equihash (zcash algo) bandwagon . the profit was just too tempting.
ill be right back on Spread as soon as the hype dies down.

Don't blame you mate lol.

Actually, I might want to test something out. Does anyone know if it's possible how to set up a gpu instance on amazon or some other web service company and download Spreadcoin mining software EDIT: and is willing to share?

I'm not sure it will be profitable, but I'm not concerned with costs. I think I have some Amazon gift cards - maybe they'll work for this.

This is just something to keep me occupied. Let me know if anyone has any idea on how to do this, please

Mine more profitable coins >>> make profits >>> buy SPR  >>> SPR becomes more profitable coin Grin

With current difficulty, easily.

I looked into setting up a rig, but it seemed costly / not worth the effort.

I would be interested in cloud mining for Spread X11 - I would buy a contract just to support the network.

Interesting views on the size of the Bitcoin blockchain over the next 4 years.

My guestimate that it will reach over 700GB by the time of the next halving has been generally accepted (well, not seriously challenged).

Actually, if SegWit gets accepted (I like some of the features of SegWit), we could see the blockchain heading beyond 700GB in 4 years time:

700GB in 4 years? It could be more than that, signatures inclusive.

The bandwidth to run 700GB + per month is going to be ridiculous.

ServiceNodes, DSDN, ftw

Can we expect this when SPR hits Poloniex and we have Service Nodes?  Grin

I grabbed this from the polo transactions list

10/28/2016 18:56    Buy    1900    0.01078402    20.489638

Someone actually paid 20btc for 0.01 ZEC.
Anyone who wasn't manipulating forgot the one very important rule:

With all that said, this makes it clear that if there is an opportunity for people to pump and or protect their financial interests, they will take advantage of it. If we can get those full bitcoin nodes fired up and running, the BTC whales will have a field day.  Wink

Will the proposed implementations of servicenodes ever be realized(decentralized block explorer/bitcoin full node?)  georgem hasn't posted in over a month. I miss him  Cry

There are no economic incentives to run bitcoin nodes, you make those nodes too big and too easy to control, bitcoin becomes worthless. Bitcoin dies. If we want bitcoin to really be anti-fragile it needs to be built to be anti-fragile
