The part that confuses me is that we already have many viable coins, why start one just for startjoin? I suppose it does give the ability to fund bounties and the like though. I suppose it could be interesting to see how this goes.

I'm seeing a lot of negative comments here and I'm not sure if those accusations are based on actual facts. I'll wait a while before deciding if I'm gonna invest but I gotta say that I was nicely impressed with the website. It looks clean and professional.
And I think it's an interesting idea they're experimenting with here.
The coin is trading at 29k sat atm. I don't know if it'll succeed or fail but it doesn't make sense to bash the dev without hard evidence of foul play.
Good luck to the dev with this project. I'll keep an eye on this thread

Not all pre-mined coins are scams, it depends of the purpose of the pre-mining. In this case the money is going to a good cause so I think it would have more legitimacy than most other coins, so long as this is actually an official coin by Max Keiser. McxNow was pretty quick to adopt the coin for trading as well, so at least their is a way to exchange the coins to fund projects. We need sites like StartJoin to get more funding so we can raise the value of all crypto currencies.
Another point I'd like to make is that all Crypto Currencies are experimental including Bitcoin. While I do hold value in several of these currencies it is still just a big experiment. They are not penny stocks, they are even more volatile as they are all prototype protocols/software. There is nothing apparently dishonest going on here, everyone should be aware of the extremely high risk in these currencies. You would be a fool to be completely confident in any of them.

I actually like the idea of this coin. But the price right now is ridiculously high. Once it goes down, way down, and I figure out where the 50% premine went, I might actually buy. Suppose that's a long ways away.

Got some START transferred from one guy. I was amazed at the speed of transfer! Almost immediately they were fully confirmed into my wallet. This coin has real potential for sure. I'm no techie, so I don't know what they've done, but it's faster than any crypto I've tried.
I found SilkCoin to be like this too. Most of my START transfers have been quick too but one to mcxNOW is taking forever. Maybe it's the exchange.

Many users were reporting access errors when attempting to access the main StartJOIN website. These were due to non-latin characters in the user's password causing CloudFlare to block the IP. These issues are being resolved and the website should be accessible shortly.
