In light of the recent problems with Push Pool on the KED pool, I tried all day to get a stratum back-end working.

I was not successful, even altering the Darsek coin daemon to work around the Cosmocoin stratum flaw. (Darsek is based on Cosmocoin, unfortunately it appears to be abandoned by its developer)

I then searched for a more up to date Push Pool capable of handling Darsek. I have found one whose last update was a couple of months ago. It is running on the pool now.

I have turned off the cron the killed and restarted the Push Pool in the hopes this version is stable enough not to need the cycling.

Fingers Crossed.

Thanks for the update.

I'd be a lot more upset with a buggy exchange than just waiting for a good one.

Exchange Update!

Ok guys, this has been an epic weekend, and we have missed our ultimate deadline of Sunday.  So there will be a 1000 GPL giveaway.  I do not currently have 1000 GPL but will buy upto this amount after we launch.

I understand, people are frustrated by the exchange delays,  and I have given many reasons to people why we have not yet launched.

We thought the exchange was working, but we encountered an issue with decimal places and fixing this caused compatibility issues with various aspects and interactions within the code, this ran deep and the main dev has been working all weekend non-stop to get this fixed.

We are now at the stage where the functionality is where we want it to be and, the exchange can receive and send all coins, the 2 factor is working, and all bugs are ironed out. Basically the wallets are working and as secure as possible.  However this has meant we needed to rewrite the exchange algorithm.

I am not the dev on this project (nowhere near clever enough), but the lead dev is a very cleaver guy, and I have faith that we are very close indeed now, however we need to sleep and will be back to work in 8or9 hours from now.  I will not give a launch estimation as when I have done that in the past it has proven false and we encountered more issues.  But for you miners out there that are mining for the PC game competition I don't think you will have long to wait.

Just bear with us a little while longer and we will have some great things coming along.

I have republished a post I wrote earlier this year on generating and using vanity coin addresses, customized for UFC, KED and GPL.

Memory is fine:

 free -m
total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:          3010       2547        462          0        157       1504
-/+ buffers/cache:        886      2124

2 GB free after accounting for releasable memory (Buffers and cache)

It is simply the interaction of the findblock cron and the daemon, the process is taking WAYYY longer then it does on KED or GPL.

That's exactly the slogan I put in my mock Pool! Ok, I'll register over there soon.
Initially I put Picard's Facepalm for the background, but it's hard to find a legible font color for it.

Dreamwatcher, that's quite a beef machine! I guess you are serious with this.
However, your ram is probably a bit low comparing to your CPUs. Do you know if Scrypt and scrypt-Jane require lots of memory to validate the blocks? Do you know which from job is hogging ?

The resources are no where near maxed out. There appears to be an issue with a couple of crons taking way too much time and as a result the when the web page tries to pull from the cache, it is empty.

The GPL and UFC pools are on the same server and the GPL pool does not exhibit the problem most of the time.

The VPS is a 8 cpu, 3 GB Ram , 200GB HD Running Ubuntu 13.4

I did have some problem with GPL, but I didn't look into details. Switched to KED instead.

Meta, you mentioned that you used GTX mobility, so you are only mining on a laptop?

Just want to do a poll here, how much do you think GPL is worth now? Let say, how much you'd sell/buy 100 GPL for?

Just_me, sent a small bit.

Thank you for the GPL.

But my GPL wallet is not synching now, so I don't know how much you sent me.

The GPL wallet is trying to download a large number of blocks now ( over 52,000 ) ? What is that about?

Where can I buy cheap graphics cards for mining, such as 7970 AMD Radeon's ?

I feel I am missing out, because of not mining, so if you want to send me some GPL, that makes me feel better a bit.

Dreamwatcher,

I am guessing that the slowness is related to your VPS. It's possible that it's disk latency, triggered by cache generation, or maybe you are out of RAM.

As soon as you moved kedcoin.com to a separate server, the site went quite a bit faster, so I am guessing it's not merely just the code. The code itself seems simple.

Because of the slowness, I was under the impression that your pools are at/near capacity. Because of that, and to satisfy my own curiosity, I intended to create other pools for these coins. At least for UFC, which I felt was very slow. I am not going to launch before the exchange and the giveaways.

If you don't mind me asking, what size of VPS are you using? I am guessing that the VPS is powering both UFC and GPL now, right?

I have been working on the UFC pool today in an attempt to fix the slowness of the website. After reading through some of the issues  and commits on the pool software, it did look like a cache problem. However adjusting for that, the site is still slow.

I will continue to try and fix this issue. As far as mining goes, everything is fine, shares are being counted and coins credited. The web site slowdown appears to be an isolated problem.

Hey guys.  BitJohn has a poll going for coins to be considered and KED is on there.  So far I am the only one who has voted for it, lol

Head on over and help out!

I can't get anything to work.  Either I get permission errors (even though I have permissions), or I get " see --help", or I get to the point of entering my U,P and then the miner just sits for a minute and exits.

How disappointing.
