Well, I gave up except for on my one gpu. I'll run that for awhile and see what happens. I've only gotten 3 blocks is all.

I still want Quatloos!

A couple of my daemons say around the 19200 blocks area.

I did raise the pool difficulty to 15 to relieve some of the stress. The network Difficulty is at 100 right now.

I will periodically adjust the pool difficulty until the difficulty balances out.

Yup, 19270 and rising Smiley

edit: solo mining I see 50/50 rejects right now, it's getting better Smiley

Next coin, change the diff algo so it adjusts faster.
But for now, it will do. Soon we will be at 0.005 diff, then things settle.

Unless absolutely needed, no restart... this is just one large GPU farmer who had his sights set for this launch and has refused to let up.

I have managed ONE solo block with my GPU in hours the rest are stale... and the block rate seems steady and only slightly increasing as some try to get in... but this GPU farm has a very large hashrate... the pool stats say it all where it still says block time less than a second... until difficulty jumps enough to stall the orphans, this is going to happen.

It is sad this isn't even worth mining right now because of this one person, it might have been better to have worked with dreamwatcher and released this SOLELY through the pool until we got an idea of who was interested and how much hashrate that entailed.

I will be playing WoW the rest of the day and then see how this fairs out tonight... maybe I will jump back on.

For now... my 20 GPL will have to be enough.

If a 3rd launch is needed, a pool only start may be the way forward,  with the QT and source released 2 or 3 days later.

I have not been GPU mining personally but my main PC is client only mining!  That has 1 block in 5 hours, and it turned to an orphan!

I am not optimistic at the moment that we don't have a problem.

I see blocks coming in again, solo mining.
Deleted my blockchain, let it sync, now it's good.

I have noticed some weirdness on the pool and have been looking into it.

I thought it might be forked also, but I am getting consistent numbers between a few daemons on different systems.

Because the Daemon does not have a network hash rate, we really have no idea what is happening. If there are large solo miners out there that dwarf the pools hash rate, things can get really funky with the pool.

It is going to be this way until the difficulty matches the network hash rate.

Like these startrek coins!  Tongue

now mining at the pool but it seems to be stuck! since 19:35 (pool time)

are the other miners seeing the same issues?    solo mining on my other rig and it's all rejects!  is that because the diff is so low ?

Same issue here

Also Client fails after restart saying ReserveKeyPool() failed (or so Smiley ) ...

The CPU miner is up at github:

https://github.com/Hartland/GPL-CPU-Miner

I have included a complied miner, but no guarantees it will work on your system.

To compile yourself:

Code:
./autogen.sh

./configure

make

Dependencies are listed in the README file, or just keep running configure and install Dependencies until it stops complaining .

typical start command:

./minerd -a scrypt-jane -o -u -p

To use the miner solo with a locally running daemon/client with the server=1 option in the config. Use 127.0.0.1:8344 for address and port. Use the rpcuser and rpcpassword in your config file for username and password.

I will try and get the pushpool (LP) up ASAP.

The start script is in the github as start.sh..

But here it is:
Code:
#! /bin/bash

export DISPLAY=:0

export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1

export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100

./yacminer

Now for a bit of good news bad news. I have the CPU miner working, however push pool is not.

I will post the CPU miner in github in few, and continue to work on the pushpool, so CPU miners can pool mine also.

The fifty second rule of aquisition, vote for your coin whenever you have a chance. There is no profit without publicity.

Wink

GPL got my vote.

Grin

Glad you like it!

Also a massive thank you to those who helped us with the coin creation Smiley  you know who you are!

and a massive thank you to dreamcatcher!  His pool looks smooth..

Apart from the first few blocks, I won't be mining this one, but for those who are (and im sure this will be a very popular coin) the pool http://gplcoin.com comes highly recommended!

if we all get behind this coin it will be a real winner !  but don't forget the other coins Smiley

Thanks again dream! Your VPS must be getting a ton of traffic with this low difficulty!

Out of curiosity, with the difficulty this low everyone seems to be finding 30 blocks a second, but it's mostly orphans. Is it just because there are a lot of miners and the difficulty is low?

dreamwatcher,

Care to post your start script, what you have to mine with and any suggestions for best parameters to run?

Seems you had no issues finding blocks... but the rest of us aren't as lucky lol.

Did I mention how much I hate starting repositories on Github. Forking is so much easier.

Anyway:

GPU miner:

https://github.com/Hartland/GPL-GPU-Miner

I have included a complied miner, but no guarantees it will work on your system.

To compile yourself:

Code:
./configure --enable-scrypt

make

Dependencies are listed in the INSTALL file, or just keep running configure and install Dependencies until it stops complaining  Cheesy

The start.sh script is a good way to start the miner as it sets the environment variables that the miner needs.

The miner works exactly like cgminer. Same .cgminer directory for the cgminer.conf file or command line options if you use those.
