For all questioning the low difficulty, realize ALL coins start at this difficulty. I have found none that didn't. When I messed with the difficulty, odd things happened. Like the difficulty jumping may too much on re-targets, etc. Its not just a simple change as everyone seems to think.
Name the scrypt coin that started at difficulty 1+
What I did was equalize the difficulty/reward for the road up to difficulty 1.
Anyone crying about insta-ming or pre-mining: You have to realize that someone with 10 - 20MH/s was mining in the early stages and would have received a whopping 2016 NIB for their 1st 2016 blocks (if they got them all). Again let me spell this out: Worldcoin 1st 2016 blocks = 64,512, Litecoin 1st 2016 blocks 100,800, Feathercoin first 2016 blocks 403,200.
I didn't get a single coin for the first 5000 or so blocks and I released the coin. Don't see me crying... just sayin.

Ok, sorry guys, but going to shut this pool down for awhile. (nibble.scryptmining.com) Still seeing some oddities on my end. Should have just taken a bit more time I guess.
The web interface will remain up, feel free to withdraw your coins if you want, auto-payouts will also still work, and coins from recently mined blocks should continue to trickle in.
Unfortunately I need some sleep, and don't feel comfortable leaving this thing running over night in its current state.
If you take a look and find you haven't been paid what you are due, please pm me the details and I will make it right. Will check in again tomorrow when I have time, perhaps some new pools will pop up by then. Sorry for all the trouble! I tried. The difficulty is ALWAYS low at launch. Name one scrypt based coin released without the same difficulty. Not sure, but who about the blocks that were mined by someone with more hashpower than your or I? What could they have made a few thousand NIB's? The way this currency was released equalized < 0 and 1 difficulty through a stepped gradual ramp of of the reward. What do you think Worldcoin started out with? or Litecoin? or Feathercoin? Same difficulty and a huge amount of insta-mining.
Its block 10,890 now. Worldcoin gave out 348,480 coins, litecoin gave out 544,500, and feathercoin 2,178,000. This coin gave out 88,444 so far. And those coins will never be fully mined so the number of coins is irrelevant.
Epic fail on your part.
Just because all those other shitcoins used it didn't mean you had to use it too. Plus YOU were the one promising no insta-mine, so the fail is on your part. The increasing reward is a nice touch, but that low diff still was a douche move.

You have no idea what changing the starting difficulty does to the life of the coin. None. Name the coin that has.
In the end, take your 20Kh/s rig, and go mine something else.
The difference with changing the difficulty at the start would be that it would not be as attractive to the 'pump and dump' miners from the start. Therefore resulting in a lower starting hash and needing time, effort, commitment and publicity from the developer in order to grow properly. Of course the end result could be better but in the current climate of multiple new alt coins a day then it would most properly just fade into obscurity.

FWIW in addition to reducing the number of required confirms, I cleaned up a few orphan blocks in the db that were causing some of the pool sharecounts to skew/go negative.

Yeah there is a lot of horse power in plus low dif... makes it a nightmare for slower hash. I saw your addy in the graphs area... I dont know its common on new coins. I live it every day too myself.
I don't disagree. But the point is if my shares get accepted I should get something; not stuck on a big fat 0.
