We are at 50 per block, and 1 difficulty...

http://nbc.minepool.net/   Running well. come join.. or not..its about that time to start pooling.

Stratum is mandatory when blocks are still coming in this fast. I'm getting 70%+ rejects with the same settings I used on nibble.scryptmining.com (which had <5% rejects with stratum before it went down).

Edit: 80%+ now.

Ok perhaps. I had some issues with stratum before .. but it was when the pool hash got crrazy high.. I'll see about adding it.

I'm just assuming that it's at least part of the problem, because I didn't have trouble with the other one. Both of my rigs look like this right now.

Sorry to ask a silly question. But are you definitely running CGminer Scrypt and not just standard CGminer for sha-256?

**Sorry ignore that, didn;t see the accepted ones, thought it was all rejected**

Most definitely. The reject rate is insanely high at the moment. Considering going back to solo it's so bad.

Solo mining with about 355 Kh/s, though I'm not sure if it's actually mining properly as I haven't got a single block (accepted or not) in the 25 minutes I've been mining.

solo mining is all about luck, you might hit a block in the first minute or not for several hours. as long as your seeing 'new block detected on network' then it working fine.

I love the combination of 70-90 diff shares on such a low difficulty. I don't even get to submit something before it goes stale. Oh well, back to solo and crossing fingers  Grin. best share 6.25k  Cool

Just another +1 for the approach the creator used in terms of block difficulty + reward for the early blocks. Excellent idea and i think it worked out really well.

not sure what the difference is but i'm getting ten times more per share on this pool over http://nibble.scryptmining.com

You're getting more per payout because the hashrate of the pool is much lower, meaning that when it finds a block you get a bigger portion of it. It also means that there are far fewer blocks being found by the pool for now (especially with such a ridiculous reject rate).
Thanks for the clearification.

I am pretty critical of the recent alt-coin launches. The most annoying and irritating thing is the high initial rewards. It means people with good ping and a lot of hash power essentially vacuum up all the coins and everyone else gets screwed. The difficulty is always set too low and the reward too high, for the most part.

Your approach was much better. Although the block difficulty was initially very low, the reward balanced it out. I applaud not only the fact that you've been here from the launch of your coin, but also that you have created a coin with seemingly fair distribution. I have been mining on about 500 khash and I now have about 150 coins.

What some alt-coin creators don't understand (if they aren't intentionally doing it) is that if your coin has huge rewards at launch and then tapers off, regardless of whether or not it's actually being premined by the creator, is that it then has an image problem, and is essentially doomed to fail long term, especially if it brings nothing new to the table.

So, again, hats off to you for creating a decent coin, a fair distribution pattern, and for sticking around to answer questions and support it. I don't know how sad it is to say this, but it's already miles ahead of most alt-coin releases. Nice job.

Depends what each share is worth.

For all questioning the low difficulty, realize ALL coins start at this difficulty.  I have found none that didn't.  When I messed with the difficulty, odd things happened.  Like the difficulty jumping may too much on re-targets, etc.  Its not just a simple change as everyone seems to think.

Name the scrypt coin that started at difficulty 1+

What I did was equalize the difficulty/reward for the road up to difficulty 1.

Anyone crying about insta-ming or pre-mining: You have to realize that someone with 10 - 20MH/s was mining in the early stages and would have received a whopping 2016 NIB for their 1st 2016 blocks (if they got them all).  Again let me spell this out: Worldcoin 1st 2016 blocks = 64,512, Litecoin 1st 2016 blocks 100,800, Feathercoin first 2016 blocks 403,200.

I didn't get a single coin for the first 5000 or so blocks and I released the coin.  Don't see me crying...  just sayin.

Hi hyoshi,

First off, I'd like to thank you for being as active in the community as you have been. It's extremely refreshing compared to most other devs. It's greatly appreciated, and a sure sign of a coin's potential.

Next, ignore the haters and trolls. There are more of them out there than you can reply to in a lifetime. All you need to do is keep up the good work, and good things will come to you. In my opinion, you've done everything just about perfectly up to now, and you don't owe anyone here an explanation for the choices you made in relation to your coin.

Regards,

Prelude

I'm a big supporter of alt coins, and normally my biggest criticism of the new ones is the disastrous launch due to orphans and low difficulty.

Like you say, to my understanding mining a genesis block at difficulty of 1 is a nightmare.

Short of doing so, this was a very good method to approach the low difficulty problem.

Yes, I got nothing but orphans in the beginning, but it just didn't matter, because those blocks were practically worthless.  I am getting them now at 32 coins per block.

In short, good job on the launch.  Keep it up with the development and promotion of this coin, and it'll go far.
