pre-announcement: the first pools are up, working, and ready for early, but real use. We want to give special thanks to Discord user @hellcatz of http://luckpool.org for getting the first s-nomp version modified for VerusHash and helping test both the pool and miner until they work. We also want to thank @0x03 , who has been working tirelessly to get up another working pool for the community. Here are the two pools and examples of how to connect with the miner linked below on Linux:
Temporary S-NOMP setup for LuckPool - this will be integrated with their custom pool in the next few days and all miners will be able to transition smoothly without any loss of payouts
Temp WebURL: http://149.56.27.47:8080/
Example nheqminer: ./nheqminer -v -l 149.56.27.47:1234 -u RDWx2Sa8iyeLVTMUUi5ypY357ZXH5tNf56.newuser -p x -t 4

VerusPool from 0x03
http://veruspool.xyz/
Example nheqminer: ./nheqminer -v -l 95.216.13.66:9999 -u RJUw1fZeJXSss5mWwqUWvJotfKx2Vft56B.newuser -p x -t 4

Obviously replace the VRSC addresses above with your own, and "-t 4" is the number of threads to use for mining.

The miner is working well, but currently compiled for Linux only. We are working on compiling for Windows. There is a bounty available for the first person to compile the miner for Windows and post a working PR that does not break other OS builds.
Here is the repo and a pre-compiled miner release for Linux:

Thanks all for work, but do not understand , it will be the same CPU miner, which we already had before, with same hash. Except for that, to connect several together?
Well, or to get permanent small rewards, because the increased load on the network.

I'll try to make the windows miner.
Loading VStudio.

That would be great. If you have any questions, ping one of the devs on Discord: https://discord.gg/73mZKm

I have been mining for about 20 hours. My wallet says that with 6 cores and Local Mega Hash / s: 99.798

on the wallet the situation is equal to zero.

Difficulty is very high. Average 650MH/S will get one reward very 5 to 7 days. It also depends on luck as well.

Does anyone with a working stratum pool for Verus want to help test a new miner?

Miketout just completed coding on a VerusHash stratum miner, which we are looking to run against a pool. The easiest way would be with a pool that actually works or is thought to. The miner is complete from a code perspective and when it works, should be as fast as the wallet miner, which is currently the fastest crypto hash in the world on CPUs. We haven't tested this yet, as we'd prefer to run against a pool that is thought to work. Try at your own risk of crashing for now. If someone else doesn't organically bring up a pool this week, we'll probably do that as a community pool.

If anyone wants to look at the source code and changes over nheqminer, it's in miketout's personal github right now. All the equihash CUDA support is still there in addition to the new VerusHash support: https://github.com/miketout/nheqminer

Can I get any rewards for my testing procedures?
Please let me know about payment rates for testing work (if available), then I will join the testing phase.

Is there any pool available to mine at the moment? Since there is no more timelock I would assume there should be a pool already somewhere.

Pardon my ignorance. But I would just like to know this: is it worthy to mine Verus (VRSC) in CPU nowadays?

If it isn't anymore worthy to mine by CPU, what is the best recommendation to mine this?
