What an INCREDIBLE week it’s been! We started this week with a nice upgrade to add search filters and a little more efficiency, but by the end of the week, the Verus Community has made blockchain history with the Verus Hash algorithm and we have just released working Electrum servers and a lite mode Agama wallet, all with significant contribution by community members! This is an amazing feeling, as this week’s biggest achievements, from the bug fix point releases of the first Agama to the GPU miner, to the lite mode and Electrum server support would not have happened if not for the Verus Community working together! Thank you!
Remember, this is not a mandatory Agama update, but it is very cool and convenient. If you are on version 0.3.13 of the CLI, you don’t need to upgrade anything. That hasn’t changed.
So, where can you get the awesome new lite mode Verus Agama and GPU miners?
As usual the latest, non-mandatory Verus Agama, version 0.3.13c with lite mode support is at:
https://veruscoin.io/New, Nvidia GPU miner for Windows and Linux (Windows, make sure to download all dlls to same folder):
https://github.com/monkins1010/ccminer/releases/tag/v2.2.61I want to mention a few people involved in the community work this week, notably two people who first reported the bugs that were fixed (names are Discord names), @Crypto_boy and @mavenL, thank you both for your reports and help in quickly identifying and fixing errors.
I also want to give special recognition to "@Chris - LOUD Mining - Dev Ops" / monkins1010 for not only finishing the fastest GPU miner we’ve seen yet, although not so fast that we can’t keep CPU mining, but for working on it and releasing it openly to the community the first day he finished it. We’ve all heard stories of CPU-mineable coins that get blown away by secret GPU mining. Not only did we not have that in this case, it looks like we found out that CPU and GPU miners of Verus can now shake hands (credit for that statement goes to @bitopia, our new Verus Pool operator in the community).
Finally, I want to thank 0x03 of 0x03.services for helping not only get a much easier pool installation together for all pool operators to use and learn from, but for adding a bootstrap service to his website, working with me tirelessly through his night to help me get the Electrum servers up and running, and for offering to host the first community Electrum servers for Agama lite mode.
