I don't doubt that WE WILL reach 60k in the future. But the price has been steady, rarely climbing up. It's good and bad. Good because it shows people like me and others are holding on to their coins, simply because we got in as a long term investment. But by long term, I don't mean years! After all, this is crypto world here and some coins, you invest 1BTC, and after a month you make 5.
The bad is that other coins have been in the market before via and also making their own "burn" process and market and so on... saffron for example is doing it. Allot of innovation and fast. So unless Via is going to bring something exceptional, it will always stay where it is. And will climb up very slowly.

you seriously think VIA won't reach 60k again? In the long-term, that's an extremely conservative valuation… I see VIA as top 3 coins eventually, anywhere between .001-.003 is realistic
and about the guy saying we'll go to 20k…. if you notice in this picture taken minutes ago, the support is around 33k and the initial pump when Peter Todd joining VIA news broke reached 40, then dumped down to the support of 33k, then skyrocketed to 70k…
Also, the RSI showing we're oversold and ready for a leg up, and the obvious double bottom at 33k says the same

Interesting discussion. The spot-on "cargo cult coin" critique is devastating to the dev-update-hype driven coins like CLOAK/DARK/XC/BLACK/BTCD/etc.
About Frozencoins, can the same technique be applied incrementally/partially to provide for per-address withdrawal limits?
Withdrawal limits, as implemented by XCN, allow for the 'Holy Grail' functionality of trustless and secure zero-confirmation transactions.
It would be great for VIA to copy that killer application, to the extent possible without an account tree and unmalleable tx.
in the case of blackcoin, i dont think its all hype. they are creating good stuff over there in bithalo, blackhalo and nightrader. and they got invited in china for the okcoin/huobi conference. so prolly china is interested in their tech.

Some investors need to calm down about requesting updates. This is the type of coin where you hold longer term. Buy some and hold - it dosnt need to be your entire portfolio. Invest what you can to afford. This coin is going places, but it will need to take the nessesary steps to get there. It shouldn't be rushed by the community. Instead of requesting updates, help by throwing out some genius ideas to the developers.

But I'm pretty certain there is going to be some news soon.

We've already seen through twitter the recent progress with "frozen coin" features. Friday is the typical day for VIAcoin blog updates so just be patient, some time later today it will be updated I'm sure and price will rise accordingly
