Pythagoras and Plato are my brothers.
i would like to know which Escrow agent keeps signing off  on the fund release
I guess the terms were to release the funds after the launch of mainet , so it is not a breach. The coins wont be refunded even if it is though Tongue

i know..but maybe we can slow down the withdrawals until public node are out? Wink

The escrows wont be on the investors side of course. Not to mention when the code is complete bullshit & they are given a warm compensation for that.

i don't think  1 node by the dev is  "working network.." which is part of the ICO fund release agreement

also why the dev team still has 1 million coins on bittrex

The revolutionary trading ecosystem
I said after the waves launched on Bittrex that the waves team have done a great disservice to their investors, some people say I was crying because of my investment, but the question is who is not there for the profit?
After a successful ICO, I would have expected them to employed best developer out there see what lisk team are doing they have Charles Hoskinson has part of their team and the most pathetic thing is that most of the Waves team decision has been second grade. No reputable developer, listed on Number 20+ exchange, poor marketing structure etc.

I think the time as come to start having cap on this ICO fund, because from who much is giving much is also expected. See what happen to Slock.it Team

I am still debating whether I supported a scam here? There is hardly any volume and the price keeps crashing. If there were in fact any buy walls how could this be possible?

Have buy walls been used yet? Or is the dev team waiting to use them?

I think buy walls is actually part of the reason the price has dumped so much.

It does not inspire confidence to see one of dev's first moves (before waves withdrawals have even finished) was to transfer 6k BTC to exchanges, where it is out of view of public, and 1k BTC gets burnt on buy walls.

There was no communication about what this 5k BTC was getting used for except for a very vague, "we're using it for development"

What does that mean?  Are you hiring people with this $3 million which disappeared to exchanges?  Who are you hiring?  What are these funds getting used for?  Where are they going?  To a bank account?  Held in BTC balances on exchanges?  Held as fiat balances on exchanges?  Transferred into devs pocket?

No one knows because there was very vague communication about this, and only after the transfers took place.  That's the main reason people lost confidence and started dumping below ico.

Trader  bill has  hit the nail on the head here.   All  we need is a  bit of communicatio.  I  mean without all the shouting about scams waves  could be a  perfectly legitimate coin but why  not explain where the funding is going?   Did you hire new devs?  A new pr  guy?   Or is there a  new  lambo sitting outside the house now?

Yes exactly.  Here is the ICO address:
https://blockexplorer.com/address/3DWBSSAue32YS8PcW2gLs6m52BCCv3UgDA

Of the 29,634 BTC raised, Waves has withdrawn/spent 18,271 BTC already!

18,271 BTC spent already, read that until it sinks in.  That's roughly $11 mil USD, even if you calculate BTC at $600/ea.

It's shocking to see the nodes having issues and any downtime with that spending.  Where was this money spent?  $11 mil USD??  I mean come on, that's enormous money, more than several alt ICO fundings combined.  Entire companies make that much in a year, and it's gone from the Waves ICO account in less than a few weeks... and during that time, almost zero marketing, zero development updates (not considering changing a background image on the wallet or changing some text / version numbers).

I'm in Silicon Valley.  You can hire the best developers on earth for less than $11 million USD.  The top developers at Google, Facebook, Apple, Tesla, etc. are not making that kind of money, and the Waves team burns through that without finding a lead dev and doing no marketing?

And after all that, the nodes blacklist each other?  Again, $11 million USD is not a small number.  You should have ZERO downtime and ZERO maintenance with that number.  And again where the fuck is the marketing??  A superbowl advertisement broadcast to 50 million viewers cost $2-$3 million USD.  Imagine what you could seriously do with $11 million USD.  I should be seeing Waves plastered over the Internet.  Lisk did 100x more advertising with a fraction of the money.

I call this a scam or complete idiocy.

Coinbiz - you botched your v0.3.0 -> v0.4.0 review (which I mistakenly followed). Might want to give it a few days before you start hurling bombs again.

why on earth would the team try to market the waves platform when its not yet done. it would be useless still if none can use the platform for its use.
so why don't you Fudsters just fud around and enjoy dumping and buying back. we all can FUD around around day.  Grin

That may be sensible but in crypto everyone does the marketing before anything is actually developed.  People expect it so the lack of marketing makes them think that something shady is going on.

We've learned time and time again that marketing/hype is more important for attracting funds and developers to a new project than having a functioning product.

We saw the huge success with pre-product marketing/hype with ethereum.

but what are you guys FUDding around, the price is cheap at the moment so why don't you buy more.
isn't this the reason why you FUD?  or have we lost or minds now?

You probably forgot to take into account the salary for employees, rent and maintenance servers for full nodes, rent, salaries for additional staff, meetings and some dev travel. Furthermore 1k BTC spent on the wall, 1k BTC transferred in Fiat, the rest of the reserve for exchanges. Moreover, only a small part of the money was spent.

Did they pay 5-10 years in advance at all ?Q?Q?
Seeing what has been done, and want need to be done yet, I thought Waves Team wasn't that big...

C'mon Mate.
Just stop it... it can only get worse if you keep going.
Silence sometimes is gold.

If the supporters of the project will be silent, there will be only those who want to destroy the project. Smiley

Twiggy, why the hell you are giving updates. You are not even part of the Waves Team.

Instead Sasha, mx and Ahmed must update the community on every aspect of Waves, from marketing to development.

You are a supporter like one of us, which is according to the feedback and that does not mean anything and besides the waves team have already said that you are not part of their Team, just a supporter.

Twiggy, you are doing a good job as a community member, but you cannot update on every aspect of Waves. The team must be responsible to their community for updates not you.

Thanks for the updates Twiggy. One more thing though: try to avoid quoting multiple posts as this makes your post almost a page long and very difficult to follow.

You spent $3 Million on this?

Out of all these sources, I seriously am surprised there is no article or advertisement / PR on CoinDesk, which is by far the largest cryptocurrency news site.  Most of those article sites you've posted on are tiny with no traffic.

Posting on Twitter, Youtube is free.  Most of these articles are about the ICO funding, which should have been free.  If you really spend anything close to $100k on this coverage/marketing you guys have zero financial sense, and anyone trusting you with their BTC is clueless.

BTW, Twiggy...
Roughly 50% of the links you posted as Marketing expenses are from CoreMedia.

And CoreMedia is a Waves PARTNER !!!!!!   Cool Cool Cool Cool
Another 60% of the remaining is what is classifiable as FREE advertise !!!!

Do you really think we can believe WAVES Team paid 50% or so of the 3 Millions Marketing Budget just to advertise on a Partner's Website Huh??

C'mon... You guys just upset Investors acting in this way  !!!!!!!  Shocked  Shocked

WHERE IN THE WORLD SOMEONE HAS TO PAY TO ADVERTISE ON A PARTNER'S WEBSITE ?? (CoreMedia in this case)
What's the meaning of Partnership then ??!?!?!!?!
And we are not talking about few bucks.. but a big portion of 3 Millions !!!!!!!!!!!

And then don't complain if People define Waves with the word SCAM.
You can just blame yourself for that.

well,
on the bright side:
Just sold 10K Waves.. I don't care how much I lost. I really need to do so.  Cool I have a sort of relief Feeling now. Like getting rid of a dead tooth.
Now getting my BTCs , buying a new laptop using them, and enjoy it soon  Grin
I still have many of Waves, unfortunately... but I will try to forget about them.

What happened with your inital enthusiasm in the other thread

Guys, just give it a few hours just to settle...
Price in just few hours  could be a big surprise for you... look at the order book graph.. it won't take too long for it to skyrocket.
I would suggest just BUY BUY BUY now.

Well, I was confident it could be a reliable project, at  least at the beginning.
I've never seen an ICO failing like the Waves one. So, how could I know that in advance?
Also, keep in mind that the strange behaviours from Devs started only after the lunch.
That's should be a proof that what I say is not FUD.
It's only disappointment for what the Waves Project turned out to be.
And I think this is a common opinion here in the thread.
If you read my old post you will find that I was worried for the amount of BTCs earned during ICO. But I tried to be confident anyway.
Now I simply cannot trust it anymore. But that's just me. Only my opinion. It shouldn't even bother you  Cool

Nah fam, it was right after breakfast. I'm sure of it!

ahaha. lol  Grin just fixed it.
Thanks for pointing out btw.. That means you pay attention, at least  Cool
It turned out to be a funny one this time, I have to admit it  Grin
