Solved. Only English letters in the path to directory.
Cool, with respect to warning messages that mention Monero, there's at least two, but they can be ignored.

Not sure. Compiling on Windows is not too painful, just make sure you do "git clone --recursive"

Do you have Linux build instructions or Linux binaries available?
build instructions are same as monero:
clone, install dependencies, cd into dir, type "make"
