Speaking of under the radar projects: someone should ask the Numerai guys whether they need a supercomputer to crunch some numbers Wink

I believe that it is also important to look at the marketing of a project. Golem has obviously succeeded in that field, whereas Elastic has gained less traction. However, marketing is something that you can improve on the run, so I hope this coin will get more publicity in the nearest time.

We are well aware that the project has fallen short in the PR / Marketing department and the main point of releasing the lite wallet is to (a) attract more devs and PR people by allowing them to have a financial stake in the project and (b) to be able to fund a foundation to pay for all work being done on the project going forward.

Nearly all the work that has been done on the project so far has been done for the sheer love of it and to produce something that is a worthwhile contribution to the world.

As a community we decided that it was unreasonable to carry on like that, expecting the work to continue with no one getting paid, so hence the release of the lite wallet.

I am interested in the project. Can you please explain how b) will done? How will the foundation be funded and where are they funded from now?

Best projects always swoop in from off radar and do a killing on the exchanges. I believe XEL is one of these projects.

Lots of lame project out there pulling in ICO funds without actually doing anything, some even with crazy ideas that won't work.

XEL is the opposite.  Already has done tons of development based on sound ideas, small under the radar launch.  It will grow.

To clarify - it is not safe to forge with the online wallet, correct?

Correct

why it's not safe?

Because any remote wallet is hosted by "someone" and you should not trust it.

1. http://wallet.elasticexplorer.org/ is hosted by me. I secured this node as much as I could, but I can't promise you that this node is 100% secure.
2. https://wallet.elastic.pw/index.html is hosted by @byrallier. I don't know anything about this node.

I can safely assume that if you're using Windows and you know that there is no exploits/viruses/trojans/malware on your machine it's always better to use our Windows binaries (https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/windows-wallet-release-3-1-0/546) than some online wallet.

I have my XEL stored in 2 x seperate wallets ("https://wallet.elastic.pw/index.html is hosted by @byrallier"). I just checked them and they hav both started FORGING without my activation... Is this normal?

I am not sure might be we have start a forge on a wallet node, Is it activation on users?

I don't know...Is anyone else's lite wallet from "https://wallet.elastic.pw/index.html" doing the same?

XEL is a more mature project and better design

I couldn't help but notice a spike in tx volume.  Have we been listed on an exchange or something?

soon ,just wait more a few days

Hi All,

Im a Noobie to BitcoinTalk (and sort of for cryptos in general) so apologies if am not commenting in the correct way (by clicking on "QUOTE" of most recent).

Just wanted to say that I am really excited for this project...

I got into CRYPTOS quite late (mid 2016) and haven't looked back. I started with a 100% allocation to BTC but have been diversifying into various alts along the way (attempting to increase my BTC holding). This project seems different, its a definite HODLER for me.

I have done the most research on this project than I have to date so far on any other. I'm balls-deep to say the least. That is how much faith I have in the team! Great story behind the project.

It's probably (definitely) a bad idea to have my asset allocation this way, but fuck, YOLO hey!

I risked my nuts on the dodgy ass looking heat exchange and I was punching the sky when I transferred my XEL holding into my elastic wallet ,which would be chicken feed size compared to most of the whales frolicking in this thread lol...

This is purely a feel good post to all the hardworking devs and people that believed in the project before I even knew about it. RESPECT!

Goodluck to everyone involved. Fuck the haters

Good for you, I too am excited by this great coin, and grateful to EK for his hard work.

Please do not mind my newbie question

btw loving this new Token and cannot wait for it to come to the exchange.

but Golem price is $0.60, and Elastic price als0 0.60

Golem Supply is 829 million and Elastic Supply is 100 million.

It does not seem right, too expensive for a beginner coin. I know my math is not right or something I am not considering.

Anyone mind explaining ?

When you look at the valuation of a project the price of each coin is meaningless. You must look at the total market cap (total worth). The fact that one project has x coins and the other y does not matter at all. Remember that each coin can also be divided into small bits and used as a fraction.
It is true that the market cap of Golem is much much higher at the moment and indeed that is not right -  Elastic deserves a much higher cap as it is the better between the two. Saying that Elastic is a beginner coin is also wrong - the project actually started before Golem and is in a better progression development wise.
conclusion - Elastic is cheap at the moment and will appreciate vastly in value compared to Golem (a similar project in the same field).
