Would you please give me the download location to the Windows installation of the XEL node? I want to run it locally. I could not find it on the Elastic website or the first post of this thread.

Three days ago XEL was launched on the Distributed Asset Exchange at HEAT. Here is a summary of the launch:

1. A total cumulative trading volume of $200,000 worth of XEL is achieved.
2. Bi-directional transfer of XEL between the two blockchains, 10 minutes in each direction.
3. The number of accounts on Elastic chain increased by almost 200, from 250 to 447.
4. The number of accounts on the Heatledger chain increased by almost 300, from 1950 to 2241.
5. XEL was listed on Coinmarketcap at spot 73 with a market cap of $40m+, see: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/elastic

The listing has demonstrated the mutual benefit for the two chains involved.

We're listed on Coinmarketcap at no. 73 with a market cap of $40m+
so much room for growth, wow.

the use of HEATexchange will be positive for both projects!

The last weeks gave the whole project a good push in the right direction. To have something of value in the hand, will change how people will act and contribute.

Thanks again to all people!

Speaking of under the radar projects

best under the radar project currently is this:

http://www.encrypgen.com/ico/

It is for a safe storage and sharing of genome information.

I appreciate any donation on my btc address (look at my profile) for this tip

I believe that it is also important to look at the marketing of a project. Golem has obviously succeeded in that field, whereas Elastic has gained less traction. However, marketing is something that you can improve on the run, so I hope this coin will get more publicity in the nearest time.

We are well aware that the project has fallen short in the PR / Marketing department and the main point of releasing the lite wallet is to (a) attract more devs and PR people by allowing them to have a financial stake in the project and (b) to be able to fund a foundation to pay for all work being done on the project going forward.

Nearly all the work that has been done on the project so far has been done for the sheer love of it and to produce something that is a worthwhile contribution to the world.

As a community we decided that it was unreasonable to carry on like that, expecting the work to continue with no one getting paid, so hence the release of the lite wallet.

I am interested in the project. Can you please explain how b) will done? How will the foundation be funded and where are they funded from now?

The thread on setting up a foundation is on elasticexplorer (https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/ ) and the monies for the foundation will be raised from donations.  By releasing the litewallet the original donators look to have the funds to put into the foundation, along with those newcomers that also want to see the Elastic Project come to fruition.

We don't want C-Cex.  I'd much rather wait for Bittrex, cryptopia, or luqui

To clarify - it is not safe to forge with the online wallet, correct?

Correct

why it's not safe?

Because any remote wallet is hosted by "someone" and you should not trust it.

1. http://wallet.elasticexplorer.org/ is hosted by me. I secured this node as much as I could, but I can't promise you that this node is 100% secure.
2. https://wallet.elastic.pw/index.html is hosted by @byrallier. I don't know anything about this node.

I can safely assume that if you're using Windows and you know that there is no exploits/viruses/trojans/malware on your machine it's always better to use our Windows binaries (https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/windows-wallet-release-3-1-0/546) than some online wallet.

I have my XEL stored in 2 x seperate wallets ("https://wallet.elastic.pw/index.html is hosted by @byrallier"). I just checked them and they hav both started FORGING without my activation... Is this normal?

I am not sure might be we have start a forge on a wallet node, Is it activation on users?

I don't know...Is anyone else's lite wallet from "https://wallet.elastic.pw/index.html" doing the same?

Yes. Same issue.
