This seems to be a tutorial for testnet?!
I am not that technical but my question was: is installing the node software the same as having a desktop wallet or is having a desktop wallet something else?

To make it short: Yo need the web client.

From link: ("....XEL node helping the network as relay node even if not forging so every node with opened port (7874) is helping the network!"  ....."I assume you know how to buy and how to login trough SSH to that server.....I'll not explain this......")

No, i dont want a webwallet (assuming that you mean the online wallet at https://wallet.elasticexplorer.org). I want a desktop wallet, because i think it is more reliable/secure. Just like you have a bitcoin qt wallet.

So i see only one alternative and that is to install the node software.

Maybe because of my limited knowledge i associate 'node software'  as being more then just a desktop wallet. A node has other functions too then just being a wallet. But then again i may be wrong.

You don't need all the node software...I'm not running a node.

You just need Java 8....clone the github...compile using ./compile.sh....then run using ./run.sh

All the details are in the various links at https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/

Well, several months ago I have programmed XXLTerminate. If configured correctly it will automatically delete posts that contain certain words, or have certain authors. https://github.com/OrdinaryDude/XXLTerminate

Maybe it helps ;-)

Cool.  Having dealt with these kind of losers before in many threads it seems the one thing they do have is time (probably because they have no job or life beyond their computer or their phone).  Some way of speeding up the process would help.

I cleaned up the whole 10mio "discussion" and as such have deleted lots of the answers too, as it doesn't make any sense to delete only his messages and your quotes of him are still filling the thread.

Thanks!  Wink

It's just a pain in the ass cause you have to delete post by post.  Grin

Is there no way to just ban people from the thread?

No, but we have used an auto-delete script in the past and could use it again if necessary.

Lol, some newbie FUDster just left a message here and then quickly deleted it, saying that our devs are a shame because they still haven't released any wallet. It's so much fun to read these guys Grin

He didn't delete it.....  Cool

Can someone please explain to me the moderation policy here?
I seem to be getting too much rejection... (I honestly don't see the justification)

One word: arbitrariness

So back to business and ignore guys like vladimir

hey guys.
on https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/elastic-litewallet-mainnet-launched/330 it seems you have the choice between having
1. an online wallet
2. a full node

I dont want an online wallet, but a desktop wallet. Is the full node the same as a desktop wallet?

Cheers!

I will donate 5% of my XEL to the foundation

This is a bad photoshop work. Look at the uneven spacing between the numbers in the 10 million XEL amount column. What are you trying to do here? And why don't you do it right? I mean, everyone of us sees the odd spacing, you should have seen it too when you created this photoshop-screenshot. Are you too dumb or what is the point here?

The quality of trolls these days is a disgrace.  Photoshop is so easy to use but they can't even get that right.

True, the younger generation of trolls just doesn't have the work ethics they used to have... they all expect instant trolling without the effort needed to FUD right. I blame reality t.v and faulty idols.
