Without the pair of you giving up your valuable time and dedicating so much of your lives to Elastic, this project would very likely have turned to ashes.
Donations at this point are for the work done to bring us to where we're at today. In the near future, there will be a foundation (or similar) set up to reward work going forward.

So don't make the mistake to to sell yourself cheap. You've probably read the story of the guy who bought bitcoin at 1$ and sold it at 10$. Don't be that guy.
Focus on the important things: brilliant devs, real product, great community, years of hard work put into it.

Golem, at the moment, has fixed usecases such as image rendering. So if you want to render your image, you can use Golem. If you get the brilliant idea, that you want to factor a large number or solve the statisfiability problem of a large CNF formula, you obviously can't use Golem.
Elastic works differently. You do not have fixed usecases but instead a powerful programming language, which let's you create your own use case. So to coming back to the example from above: you want to factor a large number or solve the statisfiability problem of a large CNF formula? You just go ahead, code your algorithm in ElasticPL and let it be solved by the crowd.
