Findings regarding the xel components #2 by Any1: https://gist.github.com/any1dot/0ce78d0c7bd8be13a0b660d2dd574430

(there are some donation adresses there, the guy is working quite hard, give him a tip if you can afford it)

is really this entire project development by only one person? If so this is really amazing!

He is talking about a reasonably new XEL community member "Any1" which is making a great job with organizing the community around various tasks to make XEL a better project. There's quite a lot going on on Discord and Slack, so come join Smiley

Hi XEL enthousiasts! We've noticed the XEL hosts that we are using are down, and would like to update the XEL recipe for the Internet of Coins wallet.

Currently we have the following hosts:

We like the XEL project and would like to keep it supported in our wallet. Is there a place where we can find a list of public hosts that we can use so people can use XEL with our wallet?

Thx!  Smiley

You can find them somewhere here
https://github.com/xel-software/Litewallet-Mainnet/blob/master/conf/nxt-default.properties

It might be also to update your code to the one from the linked repository; it fixes two minor bugs!

2. Why there is a miner to download, when it is 100% PoS?
3. Is buying 1000 XEL the only way to earn more coins?
4. Where is the elastic computer in all that?

I am a bit surprised that you are asking these kind of questions. Obviously, you have neither read the whitepaper nor did you take even a quick look at the website. The information you are looking for is all there!

I installed the wallet and it all came back to me.
I used it about a year ago for testing some calculations on test net.
I remembered it by the dark colors (which I, back then, advised that need to be more readable).

Well I decided to give it a try once again. However this time there are two parts.
A Wallet and a Miner.

Wallet works, Faucet is empty. However the miner is not integrated into
the wallet anymore and a Docker instalation is needed. Unfortunatelly
I'm a Windows 7 user and Docker requires Win 10.

we can maybe help you join the discord and ask there for help: https://discord.gg/WJ9sKj2

Could someone pass me the Elastic signature code? I will use this signature genuinely until March of next year! Does anyone produce shirts in Europe?

We are producing shirts and can make a XEL shirt when there is some interest Smiley

It's so sad, it's funny.

It's like a year back, when people genuinely, unironically asked in PoW coin threads "…but how do I get tokens if you don't do an ICO?"

Now it's that plus masternodes, I guess. Give EOS, TRX and so on a bit more time to attract even more flies and it will be DPoS "how do I vote to get more tokens" galore.

It is a great collection of info. However there are several things I do not understand.

1. How come this is a non-ICO coin, but is 100% pre-mined?
2. Why there is a miner to download, when it is 100% PoS?
3. Is buying 1000 XEL the only way to earn more coins?
4. Where is the elastic computer in all that?

Thanks

Some news from XEL slack and discord for those who don't follow them .
- any1 , who currently helps with the development of XEL platform shared some ideas which you can check here https://gist.github.com/any1dot/290287a4e7e234b36f436b20a15da678
- Distro shared the work he and mr.coinzy done for long time in gitbook . Community currently is setting up a wiki for XEL
- XEL twitter and reddit are now active and we are working on ways to be more active
We , the XEL community are more alive than ever and more and more people want to get involved and help the project move to the place it belongs . Hopefully we will have some updates from the devs in the near future .
Stay tuned .

HmmMAA, thanks a lot for the updates!

I have a somewhat related question. I have recently installed the Xeline wallet and am a bit confused by the whole situation... Not sure if this was discussed before and I am beating a dead horse here.

The wallet urges you to backup the mneminic phrase, which is completely ok. But is there a way to restore the wallet using previously backed up mnemonic phrase, or to restore using a mnemonic used on Webwallet previously?
The WebWallet seems to be gone (forever?? - hopefully not), so I suppose many holders are left with no access to their coins, right..?

Dear drays ,

as far as i can understand ( i'm not a techy guy Smiley ) you can install the litewallet locally , i think this guide will help if you are on windows http://xelastic.wiki/windows-tutorial ( wiki was setup today and maybe we will need a few days to check that everything's ok ) . But if you can wait i will ask the more experienced guys and reply to you tomorrow .
I will also ask if we can start again the litewallet online , but i think the most safe way it is to have it locally .
As for the Xeline wallet , this is a great observation , i will forward it to the improvements channel and hopefully the devs will have a look at it .

Thank you! This wiki could be of great help to the community. I will probably try to install the litewallet locally in few days when I have enough time. The procedure looks extremely simple, but I would expect possible issues depending on local Windows installation - different sw versions installed, possible antivirus conflicts etc. Having publicly installed litewallet would be helpful anyway, for other users who are not tech-savvy and/or don't have administrative privileges on their PC. It should be as secure as the local version as I believe the private keys are not stored in litewallet and probably are not even sent to the server (not sure though).

Thanks again.
