I think someone sabotaged the Masternode system. With the Linux install, everything works until you try to run the daemon. Then it says "no such file or directory".

With windows, when you try to run a "masternode outputs" you get the brackets but no text.

hey ledpiss,

i am even still behind you, can you tell me if you use these VPS stuff or is it even possible to run a MN without VPS?

still figuring out how to get my MN running, but had the same idea to start with a LC-MN.

I setup a XIOS node last Sunday. It's been running fine once I got on the correct block chain. This is my first foray with a masternode. I figured I'd learn with a low cost coin. I fully plan on buying into more expensive masternode coins.

One question, how long does it take for a new masternode to start getting paid?

Smell the glove.
This looks like a promising project, I will read up on the project properly and follow it for a while.

Is there any post summarizing the most important key parts of the project that anyone can recommend starting out with?

Mastertrader posting shit. We will sort out Permissions.

ButterRose is no longer involved with this project, according to the new devs.

ButterRose is actually back on the project, just didn't post today.

ButterRose did not post today, it was mastertrader777 asking to be promoted to mod on the discord channel.

New devs seem legit, and are working on resolving the mastertrader777 problem.

It appears he's trying to drive the price down.

Wake up, ButterRose has always been Mastertrader777, not just that one post. This has been pointed out time and time again. The whole thing was a huge P&D clone coin scam, it's just as I and other "fud" guys have been saying for weeks.

Here's the deal - an open source project is a community effort. It's open to all, and sometimes, up to the community to make it better.
There are scammers and unscrupulous people involved in EVERY coin, and it's actually pretty easy to take a project like this an turn it around.
It just takes effort.

So, be a part of the effort to move it forward and eventually push out the riff-raf.
Spin-up another block explorer and/or put some wallets/masternodes online to help stabilize the network.
The forks will pass, as they have with almost EVERY OTHER COIN.

I wish you luck, but I fear you're building on bad foundations. If you're not heavily invested I think the community could go to a coin that isn't a scam (in fact even if you are in deep, I'd just take the loss and leave). They do exist.

Because I think some dodgy people might still be involved. I got a PM saying ButterRose isn't Mastertrader777 but I don't believe it for a second. For sure there's good people in the Xios community, but I think you should cut loose and go elsewhere, I recommend Phore, similar coin, non-scammer devs, OpenBazaar-style marketplace coming Q1 2018.

I have many nodes, many coins...this one is just a side project that needed help.
It's always better to help (if you can) than just bail when it looks bleak.
That's what I did with Diamond Coin and a few others - HELP AND SUPPORT, not bail due to FUD - even though it may enrich people who may be unscrupulous.

I actually admire that, personally I couldn't stand to help line his pockets.

But I'm a trader above all and the old saying "ride your winners and cut your losses" comes into play. If you can turn it around it would take monumental effort, whereas you could put that effort towards people and coins who haven't scammed anyone.

Xios isn't dead.

Why did Github disable the repository? Also, you need to update your site and MN guides. I'm thinking of setting up a MN for the first time but if the guides don't work I doubt I could figure it out. I'm pretty newb when it comes to code.

Noob-proof guide to Xios MN setup here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlcdv7K4hW23LPSFm1B3HbbNxBh5XzVEU

Thanks, that's the one I'm using.

Here are all the copypastas, makes it easier to follow along. Use the alternative github when you get there.

I am not a dev on this project. But apparently, there is a problem with wallets forking to the wrong chain. you can read back and find out why.

On the discord announcements channel, they said to past these files into your wallet file. Make sure you replace the old ones. The wallet will resync and you'll be on the proper chain.

@POSMonkey - Please add mastertrader777 back to mod position on Xios discord. Not sure why you guys dethroned him, but this is unacceptable.

Hi,

total newbie to masternodes and vps. i watched a masternode setup for TX coin, which actually uses the same wallet. The guy setup a MN locally (?) tho, is that possible with XIOS?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BMCbYJHB88

i followed his instructions, but in the end the console tells me

"you must set masternode=1 in the configuration"

..which i actually have.

am i close to my MN or is it a complete tortuous path.?!

thank you

The problem is, even if no-one else on the team was involved in the scam, the main scammer (mt777) has a large amount of Xios ready to drop on you.

I suspect he caused the fork to lower the price before the magical recovery of the "dev's" mother news would pump it back up, I suspect (as do others) that mt777 has been ButterRose all along.

Even if the coin does rise up, you'll get the mutherfucker of all dumps dropped on your heads.

I sent 1200 Xios to my wallet, I can find it in the block explorer but my wallet says 0 after more than 16 confirmations. No signs of incoming transactions. My wallet is synced at well. I have 6 connections to the blockchain. How can I get the wallet to update?

Xios is a nice coin, but people are insecure about their future, the best in this case is to do a deep research and think for yourself. Smiley

I seem to be on the right chain however I'm still getting a lot of orphan stakes from staking. Is this normal as I'm getting at least 20+ stakes like this daily and only get around 6 to 8 stakes that I actually receive. Before this wasn't happening while staking so just like to know if anyone else is having the same as me when staking?

vella85,

Yep, I've been having the same problem as well.
