Thanks for these references. I was lost on the CPU Cooling/Cooler stuff since I haven't done this before. I think its a good starting point to figure this out for my rigs.

Concerning worries about overheating your CPU, there are 2 handy things you can do;

-install this program and run it: http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ .You can set overheat protection at a temp you like.

-replace your standard CPU cooler with a better one. I bought the Tatsumi SCTTM-1000B (approx € 24,-) and this lowered my CPU temp running 8 cores at 100% from 70C to 50C

Amd FX-8350 + Thermalright HR-02 Macho Black with 100% load - 54 C
and HD7970 + HD 7850 with 100% load - 62 C

Ooof!  BIG!  But then I had a V-8 once, bigger.  Those things get so totally unwieldy, just too much bulk!  Believe me, get one of these and you'll never look back.  Look at all that room!

http://www.overclock.net/t/1298561/various-thermaltake-water-2-0-extreme-all-in-one-liquid-cooling-system-reviews

Quite affordable too, if you consider the following... Those have to be stock clocks you're quoting there, but I get the same temperatures at 5Ghz.  You're basically buying another 20% machine!

My bad girl.  Nothing gets over 65C.

It's hard to spread the hashrate because the 50 XMG reward is not always come in smaller pool.
I can Get 100 Magi in half a day in nonce-pool, but 23 Magi for half a day in others.
Somebody need to adjust this.

That is a short-term view and the somebody who needs to adjust is you, Sir Smiley

Example:

I spread my hashrate mostly between Suprnova and Noncepool in equal amounts. Earnings as follows:

Last day:   Suprnova 826 units,   Noncepool 739 units
Last week: Suprnova 9851 units, Noncepool 11115 units

That is pretty even in my view.

This is also despite Suprnova having less than half the pool hashrate of Noncepool (it has not always been this way either).

You can never tell which pool (or individual) is going to mine the larger value blocks. While testing the miner on an old machine running at just 1.5 Kh/s it mined a block worth 67 XMG in under ten minutes of runtime. This is the magical thing about XMG. I love this coin. Making sure that you have accounts on multiple pools and spreading your hashrate between them ensures that you have "a finger in every pie" so to speak. Whichever pool mines the block, you are guaranteed a share in it. Every little bit helps and it adds up pretty quick too.

Softly, softly. Catchee monkee. That's the ticket Cheesy

At the present hashrate, the block reward is rather sensitive to the difficulty variation, that being said, the majority block rewards a pool earns could be very much dependent on "magic" blocks in a short term mining period. If we talk comparison in hours, that could be the truth. I suggest comparison of days'/weeks' mining. Spexx's results are a good example.

Keeping a good airflow in the chassi helps a lot, also keeping the cpu heatsink clean.

Just 2 months after launch:
Magi (XMG) results on Bitcointalk
Original thread more than 200 pages.
Original thread more than 200.000 views.
Thats cool!  Smiley

They are really improving its traffic rate. My concern is that we aren't showing further evidence how magi is able to combat on the existing problems we face as regular miners.

That looks correct to me Spexx. I love your miners by the way.. keep them coming!

You bet! I have some good stuff coming. So much has been going on and we now have 5 pools to choose from, so I have had much to do. If it was not for the fact that I have to work for a living, my new stuff might have been out by now Wink

Keep the faith!

Another forum member wrote to me recently about the way the miner program makes the CPU run hot. Yes it sure does! Everybody please make sure that your CPU heatsink and cooling fan are clean and free of dust. Overclockers beware. My latest minerd pushes the CPU to the limit and my temperature measurements are the highest I have ever seen for a CPU miner program. If you have not cleaned your computer internals for a while, I would advise you to give them a brush-up with a (dry) paintbrush and vacuum cleaner.

Unfortunately it is incorrigibly rewards and persuasion miners.
I think this is all common design problems,

For example, let's look at dgb.
this is a great coin with age ...
and it is no  fatal problems with profit for single mining at the pool with low
hashrate.

It was all rented out earlier!  Suchpool saw an increase of 25 new miners mining Magi m7m with either their existing users or new comers!  This is a good sign for the future as more users are either supporting magi on regular wallet, tor wallet, Mobile App (coinmarketapp) or once the mobile wallet comes out, and stay active on pools... the pool support is important for the community as it helps miners expand their reward possibilities!  I've called magi will exceed 100k views in the first 30 days... now I think its going towards direction of community growth.

https://www.miningrigrentals.com/rigs/12215/

there is a 760.00Kh/s for rent low price...

almost all rigs are rented!

Available Rigs:    3 (800.00Khash/s)
Rented Rigs:    12 (1.12Mhash/s)
Average (last 10):    0.07829000
Last:    0.089

heh he just get it down to 650khs and put the price up a little

I find the idea of renting a rig designed to mine one single coin pretty funny and ridiculous.  As has been noted, with how people have priced their rigs, you'd be basically doubling what they'd crank out on their own.  Just for kicks tonight I set up my Bad Girl for rental quoting 30Kh/s for 0.04/mh/d.  She cranks out 37+  though so the person who rented it paid me a quarter, and earned a dime.  Oy!  I'll readjust those numbers though to be at par.  Why not?  I mean, renting sha/scrypt/x11 rigs involves strategy, but this has as much strategy as flipping a coin, one with two heads.

Great interest in this though!  I gotta say that I just HATE false axioms, like "CPU mining isn't profitable!  Period!"  Um no, GPU/ASCI mining isn't sustainable, because the profit margin lies in being out in front of the pack in a headlong rush over an inevitable cliff.  Amazing, all these so-called heavy math jocks can't seem to do simple extrapolation.

Great choice of words there pal. I think a lot of factors going into magi have it going for it. There is very little coins out there with the benefits of being the top 5 contenders on the market next to bitcoin, but I still see magi is still far from being that just yet. Once it happens, people will look back at the main reason they figured it was the only way to provide best choices available

This is just my theory on it.  Piggy backing on what Sam was mentioning earlier too.

Just a few words. Smiley

More and more people are discovering the unique Magi (XMG).
The more people the more competitors are alert to the growth of XMG.
Some accept and support XMG.
Some go into battle to try to stop the growth. Looks like Magi (XMG) works with a growing circle and the stable base has already been laid. The outer ring is getting stronger.
Magi (XMG) will extend from the outer ring to the inside. (on the growth model)
It seems it looks like the same growth model that made BTC big!
It means that Magi (XMG) will continue to grow step by step.
If Magi in this way continues to grow, it also means that Magi allows the possibility of a long-term investment.
The more time passes the more clearly Magi will distinguish themselves.
The community of the Magi is very committed and loyal.
That's very nice to see. Keep it up!
