Great stuff - wont manage to upgrade or turn off my node until next week - but by the looks of things it wont cause a problem =)

We have had the updates in place. We are ready to get the fix on the main chain rolling and hence the new wallet.

The follow changes were made with hard forks scheduled to take effect:

0. Sync checkpoint & master server: currently rebuilding blockchain
1. PoW & PoS checking starting at 1481500 (around this Friday night EST)
2. Difficulty adjustment starting at 1482000 (around this Saturday morning EST)
3. Protocol version: 71062, prior version to 71062 shall be disconnected
4. End maintenance mode height: 1481500 (PoW / PoS block reward back to normal)

We'll make the full list of binaries release Thursday night.

We're trying on a fix to the forks which happened at some point in the chain. Experimenting on a test chain, though it gets confusion, mimic a practical situation. I haven't tried how to pull the chain out onto the testnet though.

Yes... join us at http://h2168287.stratoserver.net we need one or two more miners here.

Why don't you join a pool if you have a very low hashrate? That helps to create more blocks frequently.
In the long run though .. solo should give you as much coins as mining in a pool (in theory )

I've noticed the same. My difficulty is currently at 64 and sometimes spiking to 128 which lowers my hashrate to 1/5th of what it should be :/.
Strange that it started to show this behaviour after quite some weeks now.

what about mining solo? i have 4 days without block

Didn't notice the bitcoin drop today - also didn't manage to work with the magi surge too much, and my bot got hit by a windows upgrade - need to start running a server and do less business travel I think =)

Have seen it too. It's stratum going mad from high amount of blocks created. I'll change the var diff time a bit.
