Coin of the Magi!
The new wallet works fine!
Only one question concerning the currency on the wallet screen:

One of my pc's says okay:

The other one has only zeros, 0.00.

What can be the problem with this pc, it's the same network, port 8232 open.

My win machines worked at some occasions as well. Price info read from coinmarketcap for now via json, with btc and usd price separately, that's why btc price display zero likely due to unsuccessful data access of the btc channel; I'll figure out. linux/unix absolutely hasn't such an issue.

regarding daily POS rewards against daily POW rewards situation is much more unbalanced than i was expecting

i can see after a few days now clear that the daily produced POS coins of whole network are below 300 and the daily produced POW coins are average above 9000

this means the ratio is

1:30

and not the 1:10 i said before

PoW block reward is obviously varying as it is supposed to be. It is a thing we'd take a closer look at in the next move as mentioned, while the reward itself is really a thing out of my very concern at the first place. I'd  make a time for cleaning up what I want to say with respect to all of prior suggestions the others made.

Hi all

Below the OLD RULES from the Magi Proof of Interest campaign III
Could you all take a look and give me some feedback?

Question 1: Whats your opinion about those rules? Are the rules good or would you like to see some rules different?

Thanks in advance!

About threshold:

When will those 625.04 be combined?

the will because below the treshhold of 800

but i would set this up different

splittreshhold 800
combinethreshhold 1000

this way u will a constant split and merge behavivor that adapt to network difficulty

if high POS difficulty the coin pile between 800 and 1000 will merge more likely
at low POS difficulty they will split more likely

this way u are another wallet that supports a healthy selfadjusting  POS difficulty

RC1 Win64 wallet has this problem (only zeros).
Joe already knows about it.
Linux wallets have no problem.

Not all Win64, my Win64 laptop works fine.

I see zeros, I'm using Win8.1 64bit, still waiting for my wallet to sync though. It crashed the first time I ran it after a few hours. I can't see any kind of crash report or stack trace in the log file.

One of the unique things about magi is that when hashrate goes up, PoW rewards go down.  Going static rewards for PoW would lead to higher hashrates at all times of the day.  This would lead to higher energy consumption to maintain the network, while one of the goals of this coin is to have as energy efficient of a network as possible.

The problem with going static rewards for PoS would be that sizing blocks would be extremely important.  This would be hard for new users to compete with people who are more staking experts.  One advantage to how staking currently works is that casual users can get normal sized transactions through normal use and they will occasional get stakes.  If there was a better use case for the coin casual users would be able to get stakes.  I personally like how magi stakes, but I just want all of the dust rewards to add up to something slightly more.

regarding pos adjust coin pilesize with the new conf parameter is easy works great create a zero micromanagemdnt required pos enviroment

regarding pow there is ways utilize the less rewards with to high hashrate even with static base blockreward
so similar as now less rewards at to high hashrate and a bit more if to much
but with adjusted diff adjustion with less ways to abuse it
and with a much lower max pow reward

so it should be in area 2 - 10 xmg with the clear aim of diff engjne to reach a average value of 5

Awesome, great news 111magic. I hope your wife is recovering well
Thanks Starmman. Wife is doing better everyday now! Appriciate you're interest.
Didn't read your full post last time (was at work), regarding the text / rules for POI 3, I think all was fine, understandable and fair. POI is great to increase interest to new people, sustain the price and keep regulars motivated. The only negative is that it may reduce the trade volume and available supply which could risk magi to be delisted from some exchanges. I'll always keep a percentage of my coins on the exchanges to help with liquidity.

I'm not sure if anybody else has noticed, but it looks like m-chain.info hasn't been working for the last few days

Does anybody know who is responsible for the service?

As far as I can see, the last update was 2016-06-24 02:03:13

Thanks =)
I've noticed the following message at the bottom of all of my wallets some located in different places (black writing on almost black bar so difficult to read)

WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download or notify developers.

Can anybody else spot the text on the status bar (difficult to see), or is it just me? I'm using two different 64-bit builds of the wallet (1.2.2.1 and I think a newer version), but didn't try the rc version yet.

Could this also have anything to do with the error on m-chain.info?

I should mention that the block chain is still synchronising, the error message is showing however - I first noticed it yesterday - but since its difficult to notice I'm not sure how long it could have been there for

I missed providing some info here. I'm actually responsible for m-chain.info; as I updated the server to the latest rc version, the database of the site seems down, that needs a resync. However, the warning of your wallet doesn't matter with this site, and will go away if you update to the rc version wallet.
Thanks 111magic =) I'll update to the RC version, I have it downloaded already - I'll try on an almost empty wallet first - just to be safe
