.....Each time a barrel is produced, it will be matched with a utility token generated from that particular flow meter, which constantly reports to the smart contract.
At each point in the process, from upstream to downstream, that barrel will be tracked and everyone involved in the process — the contractors, the tax collectors, the truckers — will only be paid at the moment that they’ve verifiably performed what needs to be done for that barrel.
It’s all automated, and overhead costs will be slashed as thousands of accountants, finance professionals and back office traders will no longer be needed.....

Decentralized applications are protocols that leverage smart contracts and blockchain technology in order to create "unstoppable apps" that don’t require middlemen such as Apple’s App Store or Google’s Play Store in order to operate.
Currently, the only Dapps that are available are those that operate only based on information on the blockchain. These Dapps, while valuable in their own right, have not even begun to scratch the surface of what Ethereum, smart contracts, and Dapps are capable of. In order to make Dapps and smart contracts capable to be executed based on the real world events, there needs to be a method of making off-chain information usable by smart contracts. The Zap oracle marketplace is the solution.
