An oracle is a data feed input in a smart contract. It can be anything from weather data to a decibel meter. The data is used to determine what action a smart contract should execute.

Oracles can be:
1. Humans
2. Devices
3. Third-party Data Feeds
4. Officials
5. Consensus.

The simplest function of the oracle contract is to act an escrow between provider and subscriber, holding both dots and data and releasing both simultaneously.
A speculator is defined as any actor who may have no interest in using, receiving or transferring particular data, but whose interest instead lies in projecting or predicting which oracles (and their related data flows) may become more useful or in demand in the future, and maximizing their current supply of Zap.

If you want to learn more about Zap, read the whitepaper on https://www.zap.org/whitepaper.pdf.

Hello Zappers!  Cool

Anyone here wants to know how the Zap meetup at Bitcoin Center's Satoshi Square went yesterday?

Ben Young - Creative Director - said that "The meetup was great! Nick gave an excellent speech as always.
We had a Q&A, the crowd learned about Zap and Oracles. We’ll have pictures later today or tomorrow (the photographer is going to send the pictures then)"

For now, we can share with you these LQ pictures taken from his phone.

STAY TUNED because the good ones are coming very soon!  Wink
