I will support Poramin's version. Please give me the link Poramin's official wallet for downloading now.
Thank you.

Still using the same Github here:
https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/releases

Thanks for the support!

This means that we need to change the miner application again ?

Nope, the miner applications should be unaffected. Only pool software needs to be updated.

a little confused over poramin's coin n gary's coin. Hopefully after this mess, zcoin will have a good future.

We will make an announcement on this once the fork has taken place. One of the reasons why we have been silent is that there's a lot of things going on behind the scenes that we need to wrap up before making any conclusive statements. I know this is frustrating as it seems that we are keeping everyone in the dark but it will become clear later why this is necessary.

However, in short Poramin will continue development of Zcoin regardless, as a new investor has been brought in to fund Poramin's development while all existing investors are retained and are agreeable to the new founder's reward distribution in Poramin's version.

Gary will no longer be a part of the project but it appears he may continue his own Zcoin fork while pulling code from Poramin's Github. He is however in control of the Twitter and Reddit accounts.

The fundamentals have not changed, except that we have two different developers now, one of which has a lot of skill, and the other has a lot of money from tricking people. Both factors can make each project successful, even if they are not working together.
.

What evidence is there that either developer tricked anyone and made money from it?

I was read here https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/zcoin/#social.

Zcoin forkv1 coming block 14000, make sure to replace/clone the new repo here asap: http://github.com/zcoinproject/zcoin … @BittrexExchange @nova_exchange

This is new version XZC wallet?
https://github.com/zcoinproject/zcoin
This is Poramin's version?

No. That is Gary Le version.

Rule of thumb:
 zcoinofficial = Poramin version
 zcoinproject = Gary Le version

There are two versions now?? I thought they are from the same team? Is it mean the dead for Zcoin? what happened to MTP or some new protocol/algorithm?

Poramin from the funding of the new investor has enough funding to continue Zcoin development and hire additional help.

MTP development is still ongoing but development is currently focused on reducing the wallet load times.

Technically speaking, if you keep your wallet.dat, all your coins before block height 14000 will be recognised in both Gary and Poramins version but practically, the one that retain its value is the one the community supports.

Forking has become a typical pattern in these waters. Too bad I cant short this shit.

Value of a product comes from the willingness of a buyer, be it an entity or independent person, to put money on it, to pay for it with the aim to acquire an ownership of that product. Value will fade away and vanish if no money wants to buy the said product. This will make a product worthless in a sense that it will stop being worthy to possess. If either of the forks fails to get a support from the buyer's side it wont hold any value.

In fact this is a pretty interesting case of value making in cryptocurrencies. Theoretically, forking one chain into two would not significantly affect the value of either chain, so that the overall value has doubled, which is paradoxical! I love this.
...

I don't think this is the case at all. For a proof-of-work coin, much of the value is derived from the security of the network - i.e., the hashrate. Since these two forks can't be mined at the same time, I would expect each fork to keep value approximately in proportion to it's hashrate, which I expect will go overwhelmingly to the Poramin fork.

Yes, much of the value, not everything - there are also other aspects of trust and speculation that make the price of a coin. Somehow the overall value has still increased.

Also, security cannot be measured in a floating number, it is binary - is there someone who can break it, or not? It does not make sense to talk about "better security" if the coin with the lower hash rate can still not be broken - why would this affect the price then?

Thirdly, if Gary would use his money cashed out from XZC partly to pay a decent developer, who is as good as Poramin, then there would still be no fundamental differences, so why would people prefer either one? Just thinking theoretically here, I'm not defending Gary at all.

The best way to profit from this situation is to keep your coins in your local wallet, and install both wallets - your private keys are the same, so you can just copy your wallet.dat. The fundamentals have not changed, except that we have two different developers now, one of which has a lot of skill, and the other has a lot of money from tricking people. Both factors can make each project successful, even if they are not working together.

Essentially, you will have your balance in both chains simultaneously, and independently after the fork happened. If you still have them on exchanges at that point, your coins will only belong to the chain the exchange chooses for you.

New investor. Existing investors are aware of it. Smiley Poramins share remains the same.

I'd like to update too, can you talk with bittrex so they adapt to your source as well?
