Looking for shmexy coins!
I am so happy ZERO is making progress, I keep adding to my bag every time that I find myself with some free btc. I am also very surprised by the lack of interest this coin is getting.

Despite an apparent lull in activity, we are pulling together resources for creating the website, organizing promotion, and furthering development.
We will be reporting significant progress in the thread, but already domains have been reserved, and design and hosting choices are being discussed.
Reserved a subredded and a Twitter handle.
Detailed work discussions are on Slack, so DM an email and a skillset for an invite.

I feel like a noob but is there a desktop wallet for windows (GUI, compiled)?
I found the post in OP ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.18277438 ) but the linked JAR file is gone.
warhawk22, this is a totally valid question. We are yet to nail down the GUI wallet offering, despite several attempts.
Mostly due to the fact that the upstream Zcash (well funded) core team has been lax in wallet coverage or in Windows builds and instructions.

First, the Vaklinov SWING wallet is neat and has been validated. The same Jar works on Linux and on Windows (the whole point of Java Wink
https://github.com/vaklinov/zero-swing-wallet-ui

The information in the post msg18277438 is no longer valid, and we'd like the Dev to strike references to it from the Announcement.
It has a link to the Zcash version of the SWING wallet and that never could have worked.
And the zerowin.zip image has been build from a codebase that is now obsolete and was not independently validated, so do NOT use it.
We have invited @1towia back into action, and hopefully he can generate Windows binaries from the latest Zero codebase and leave build instructions, so we can validate the build and check the binaries for wide use.

miner.tips - fake. Do not pay.

Yes, we do pay.

The problem is that the server needs a large amount of RAM and sometimes the payment system get locked waiting for TXTID from the wallet...

Still working on it.

Zero price on the bottom now, good time to buy some for mid-term. Upcoming news and development can drive the price up. This coin need a better marketing, hope that dev and community will do this work well.

Hello folks,

I'd like to discuss something.
It has to stop that some users deliberately drive the zero value into the basement.
I've seen it before, the example of
the value is 0.000061
Offered starting at 0.000064
Requested is from 0.000055
Sold for 0.000045
What are you doing?
so the actual value is pressed down to 0.000045,
because the last purchase is worth it.
This is pure value manipulation

Zero value need to be low, because of the huge inflation (now 100%) decreasing to 5% after 20 years. I think price should be 3000 satoshis (which is equal to mining cost with small gain). Also I see that top 3 miners on suprnova are taking 50% of the supply so distribution is not looking good.

I don't understand you. What are you talking about?
Do you want to low value of Zero becouse you want to mine as much as possible? In meaning when its value will be higher then attract more miners.

Btw. There are people who not mine and they just bought some coins. These people want value to be as high as possible.

warhawk thanks for your words,
That's exactly what I think!!

tompin is either genius (and we are too stupid to understand) or noob or FUD (what is more likely)

Is there a subreddit for ZERO?
Good point, thanks!
Once the site is up and we are blogging, reposting on Reddit and such is a great idea.

Looks like Zero has a small but active community after all. I think I like the spirit. Can I get an invite for your slack as well? I could help with pushing the price up when that is needed.

Not a bad idea actually. Is there a discord for this or no?

Hey guys,

Just discovered ZERO. I've read the initial posting and it seems like a nice, honest fork of Zcash. Previously I was a fan of HUSH but even they have a small premine, so ZERO seems even more of an honest and fair coin.

However the name is really so similar to other Zcash forks that it seems like it will be very hard to differentiate itself. What about a rebrand (ala HUSH) to something with no similarity to Zcash. So that ZERO can forge it's own identity. Thoughts?

Secondly, I'd like to contribute in terms of copywriting and UX/UI - is there a developer hangout where I can get involved?

Cheers

the people you're talking to already know to start now?

Will wait for a day for the folks to start jumping into the fray, and after that start messaging them individually.
