I would simply love a "proper" Zero/Nvidia/Windows Miner.
The current one has 100% CPU Load and (at least for me) it crashes consistently.
If I start an Instance with all 4 GPU it more or less crashes immediately after a few minutes.
When running one instance per GPU it can sometimes run for a day, or crash after an hour.
Win10 ltsb 2016 / 4gb ram / 4x 1080ti / 48gb page file / 384.94 drivers / 1600w PSU.
Its kinda sad as one 1080ti could do about 15Sols. Now im running a 7gpu 290x rig on zero (perfectly stable) and its doing around ~40.
As I understand it the high cpu load are wait cycles (so no real work) and has something to do with the way cuda on windows works.
To fix it opti would need to rewrite the whole miner (more or less). I understand that this is a major task, but isnt that exactly what devfee is for?

Question: Is Optiminer AMD only? I have two GTX 970s  and I can't seem to get it running. Using zero_nheqminer right now

no for both amd and nvidia

nheq is for cpu

Thanks - I see version 1.2 supports it. Is there a download link for optiminer 1.2 for 4GB card for Windows? I only see the 8GB version and my cards don't have enough memory for that.

From what I can see there is no 4GB nVidia support - only 8GB version

yes sure
https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerZero
download 1.1 is more as enough !

Yes I see that - the problem is this. Directly from Github "Important: There are different versions for GPUs with 4GB and 8GB of RAM! If you have a card with only 4GB download the other version (1.1.0). 4GB is for AMD only!"

So the current 1.2 version supports nvidia but only 8GB (unless I'm wrong) the other version 1.1 supports 4GB cards but is AMD only. I am looking for a 1.2 version for 4GB nvidia cards for windows.

but I'd rather recommend the linux version
runs much better!
install ubuntu then install the nvidia driver
and that was all automatic

wait, it can be that the linux version is also for amd. Why don't you talk to optiminer in the slack channel?

I believe it runs better but I can't do that - this is my main rig. Needs to stay on Win10. Guess I'm shit out of luck and will just have to buy more ZER  Smiley

ask optiminer for a 4gb windows nvidia version.

I would but I doubt he'll code one for one person. If it was easy for him to do he probably would have made a 4GB version for nvidia. There must a be a technical reason why there isn't but I don't develop miners so I can't comment on that.

Help Adding ZERO to Cryptocurrency Exchanges
http://crypto-help.blogspot.com/2017/09/add-zero-to-cryptocurrency-exchanges.html
I just Submitted the Free Request to add ZERO at Yobit
Well as far I know there is one thing that yobit team knows how to do well and that is pump coin even 5 times up. So lets wait and see. But we need working website for sure.

Again, of course a website is important!
But more importantly, a reasonable marketplace,
cryptopia is not one of them for me
where prices are constantly being manipulated downwards.

Therefore we need at least 2 -3 exchanges to fight this problem.

You should also be able to sell or exchange coin on shapeshift. io

regards

I wholly agree with this valuation. Cryptopia. Nova. Tradestoshi. All of these exchanges bring very little value to coins, and you don't want to get trapped when their wallets suddenly go into maintenance. So much crypto has been lost with these exchanges. I strongly believe for anonymous coins, you must find a strong adopter. A big, or even top 5 darknet marketplaces adopts you, and you are good.

Today I would like to return to the issue of deliberate price manipulation.
I see good news in this. If there is a buying up of coins, then there is an insider or plans for the development of the project. Also buy while cheap. And fasten your seat belts.

I want to have a go at mining this coin.

Win 10
2x 1070 8gb nvidia cards.

Ive downloaded optiminer and would like to get a wallet happening, and mine into it.

1. How many coins a day should I be able to mine?

2. Does fellow miners care to point me in the right direction to setting up a wallet and mine into it.

What's up lokko? Didn't you say you sold your coins? Or you managed to get back in? I got nice fills from 5500 to 3600 and have no plans selling any time soon. Just can't be bothered accumulating again with such low liquidity. I plan to check the price around May next year.

I feel like a noob but is there a desktop wallet for windows (GUI, compiled)?
I found the post in OP ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.18277438 ) but the linked JAR file is gone.
warhawk22, this is a totally valid question. We are yet to nail down the GUI wallet offering, despite several attempts.
Mostly due to the fact that the upstream Zcash (well funded) core team has been lax in wallet coverage or in Windows builds and instructions.

First, the Vaklinov SWING wallet is neat and has been validated. The same Jar works on Linux and on Windows (the whole point of Java Wink
https://github.com/vaklinov/zero-swing-wallet-ui

The information in the post msg18277438 is no longer valid, and we'd like the Dev to strike references to it from the Announcement.
It has a link to the Zcash version of the SWING wallet and that never could have worked.
And the zerowin.zip image has been build from a codebase that is now obsolete and was not independently validated, so do NOT use it.
We have invited @1towia back into action, and hopefully he can generate Windows binaries from the latest Zero codebase and leave build instructions, so we can validate the build and check the binaries for wide use.
  Tearo

i think the link was removed because windows wallet doesn't work

to cryptohelp,

Since the Windows Wallet doesn't work, I am irritated that it offers the Wallet under megaupload. He should know that she's starting but not synchronizing.

Under linux it is no problem to use the wallet. I can only recommend virtual box and in it linux with the wallet then you also have a backup.

But you can also simply register at cryptopia, where you can get a wallet, that's what I did!

@sfg if you want to be sure you ask tearo

you don't have to be able to program, just install java and the
unpack jar file in the correct directory. As described by Crypto.

Download a Wallet never from a third person!

Thx Lokko. (Soz, I've not used Slack yet.)

As I understand it then: it won't sync in windows unless you build it though Linux first (using vmware virtual box) and then import.

I've got a wallet at cryptopia, but I wanted to get it off exchanges and on my PC to hodl. I'm intending to hold for a long time.

I've installed java. Problem is I can't find the jar file in guthub source (and thought I had to conjure/build it from the other files some how). I'm inclined to trust crypto help, but I'll not do so since, as you say, bad practice. Probably, I'll just wait for a GUI wallet to appear.  Smiley

We doing good, boys and I see a lot of new people on the thread. Please do yourself a favour and don't sell your coins cheap. There are very few coins that have the potential to increase the price exponentially.

Hi All,

I'm trying to get the windows wallet sorted out (https://github.com/vaklinov/zero-swing-wallet-ui)

I'm following these instructions: https://crypto-help.blogspot.co.uk/2017/09/installing-zero-wallet-on-windows.html

I've downloaded zero (https://github.com/zerocurrency/zero);

and the keys: https://z.cash/downloads/sprout-proving.key  https://z.cash/downloads/sprout-verifying.key

But Lokko cautions that we should build the .jar file ourselves from the github source(s).

But I got no experience of Java or Github at all (not a programmer!).

So.. Can anyone please tell me how to build the necessary .jar files (and .exes, etc) from the github sources (zero and zero swing wallet - both linked above), from the windows cmd prompt?Huh

Thanks  Smiley
