Unofficial Windows binaries (CLI)

Hello, I just compiled Windows binaries (CLI), I used the zcash fork of radix42 : https://github.com/radix42/zcash/tree/v1.0.7-win-cross , and made the changes for ZERO.
Download here : https://zeroexplorer.com/zerowin.zip
To install it follow the instructions in README.TXT

It need to be tested, it's experimental software. Use at your own risk !

GUI wallet

Didn't tested but I think the zcash-swing-wallet-ui of vaklinov works with it : https://github.com/vaklinov/zcash-swing-wallet-ui
Download here : https://github.com/vaklinov/zcash-swing-wallet-ui/releases/download/0.65-beta/ZCashSwingWalletUI.jar

To use the zcash-swing-wallet-ui:
- Install JDK 8 for Windows.
- Store the ZCashSwingWalletUI.jar file in the same folder as zcashd.exe and zcash-cli.exe.
- Run ZCashSwingWalletUI.jar

I can't provide help/support for installation or utilisation.

Thanks for the work here for a Windows wallet.

Any plans to continue dev on this wallet, or on a Windows QT one?
There is some work in background as far I know, how long will it take no one knows. But after release of website and new wallet we can expect nice trading..

I think ZERO needs a second mining pool!

Therefore I offer the following bounty:

200 ZEROs to the operator of the first PPLNS mining pool that attracts a hash power of at least 1000H/s.  Shocked

I am increasing the bounty to 400 ZEROs.

Optiminer work well with nvidia graphic card, you just have to have right settings in it.

It is also very intensive, so when you start mining, your pc be very slow, as this coin is hard for mining.

If you have option mine just with 8 gb graphic cards as they mine twice as 4gb cards.

Other than that, happy mining and future grow of ZERO Cheesy

How can I setup the gpu miner file. I have 2 gtx 1070 and 2 gtx 1060 ?
It fails with 8gb version as my 2 cards are 6gb, so how can I not use these 2.

Does this algorithm use more core or memory?
Will there be a CUDA miner?

Help! Miner works, sends shares. There is no stat on the pool. At all. As if the miner is working in the void. I did it on everyone - the worker is not active.

the only thing I can think of is that you used the miner from the pool's site. it's an all in one cgminer of sorts but it's not the right miner for this algo.

https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerZero

this is the one you want, hopefully that solves it

Is your miner working, showing shares? Than it is mining. Check your pool setup and recheck it with your miner bat file.

I was diagnosed with brain parasite
The chart still looks very good and it almost seams like the dev is deliberately trying to keep the price as low as possible for the time being. This is a longer term play in my book. Looking forward to seeing what the next year will bring to Zero.

I agree, this might be undervalued gem.
It is good there is no website yet.

Hey,

can someone explain to me the appeal of zero vs its father zcash?

i understand it has harder mining parameters but what's the motivation to use it? is there any technology in the making that separates it excluding the harder mining.

thanks

p.s: The slack invite link is broken

Well, It is outlined on the first post by the dev, calling it simply "harder mining parameters" is a bit of a misnomer since the change in parameters of the algo is the source of the difficulty being higher, being more reliant on memory among other reasons.

the modification in the parameters have these intended effects, as stated in the dev's original post:

"-higher time complexity (google this)
    about 16 times*
-higher memory requirements
    about 16 times*
-faster block verifications
    4x
-smaller solutions
400 bytes instead of 1344 bytes are inserted in every block"

And that is just a brief summary.
In my opinion, the faster verification and smaller solutions would make it ideal in an integrated ecosystem (as well as just advantageous on it's own). like ones soon to be released or those to come such as what Ethereum is planning. All theoretical of course, someone else certainly has a more refined, detailed and technical understanding than I do.
