Well he has proved himself as a consistent poster and a professional person, there's no need to come up with a new update every few days especially if he has got nothing to share with you. It seems to me that Zcash and its forks are more like self-governing minimalist currencies, and do not require constant core changes. It just what it is and as good as it gets.
Well, I don't deny that but even if only one dev is working something, after one week there is alway something good to report (even progress on unfinished feature). It sends out a good signal that project is alive and under active development for community and potential investors. It also allows community to join some specific effort. It depends on subjective goals but as we all wish to see Zoin somehow to shine, there must be significant development, we are not alone here and there are many active competitors. And also such a report is proof coin is not dead and developer didn't flee (I've seen this happing to other crypto more than once). Anyway, as we can use source code from other projects it's mostly about active patching and updating + intensive grinding and works around (graphics, PR, ...) at least until time when Zoin finds and decide to find own unique path. To me Zoin could be something like what is Mint to Ubuntu if it is well done. It means it can more valuable than ZCoin and ZCash even though it uses their code.
