The reward will cut to 25 soon, I find it a little disrespectful that i get pm's from others asking me to visit the threads of their coins and I never ask anyone to visit threads of coins in the blake 256 system but we get almost no support from others.

I am not looking to buy fake bumps to the threads but obviously since our systems work so well I think the other coin devs and some others are concerned about the competition the merged blake 256 system has to offer and obviously do not want to support the system.

Just remember if bitcoin ever 'breaks' (hopefully never) or takes a left turn from what most people want and Namecoin cannot step up there are few alternatives.

Yes there are hundreds of alt coins but very few legit teams of people who have technology that is equal to or superior to bitcoin in several ways and a qualified team of developers who write code that works.

No scrypt 1024 coin is anything that can scale into the future say 20-30 years. Just on energy alone. I predict that in the distant future LTC ect... will change algorithms like the feathercoin team did recently.

Over the long term things are going to come down to energy costs, Satoshi predicted this in an old post stating eventually the cost of resources to produce bitcoin could be effected by it's production if it was adapted widely......

That could happen soon or could be happening now.

Remember none of the blake256 coins are /were premined that are included in our merged pools , those are Blake Coin, Photon, Blake Bitcoin , Universal Molocule, Electron and Lithium.

None are supported or 'backed' with fake buy pump orders from anyone who will pull out later and dump the coins.

The max money and block awards are very fair on the coins to allow everyone an opportunity to be involved.

You can mine with a gpu or fpga board. Asic's produced for blake 256 (not currently available) would be faster and use less power than those for bitcoin.

Since you are merge mining 6 coins at one time you are getting optimal use of resources.

There are REAL WORLD things in development to support the blake system. Several all discussed elsewhere I will not repeat them all now.

No fancy websites with a bunch of 'fake' things in development that never happen like i see with many other coins. Just reality.

Security of the blockchain is good since merged mining is attracting a decent amount of hash power.

Note this post was meant to appeal to serious people about the future of cryptocurrency , not those who expect to mine a coin and dump it for bitcoin next week.  In 3-5 years or 10 years how many blockchains do you think will be running ?   How many will be of high enough difficulty and codeed well enough to trust ?

If you mine I suggest you check out merge mining of blake coin and all the others.

If you do not mine for a very very small investment you can get a good piece of the future.

It is all up to you I am just laying it out there.

may be a dumb question, but can i mine with an nvidia card? i noticed that the list of gpus on the main site are all amd...
btw, im cpu solo mining on the qt console, how can i see what hash rate im mining at? getinfo isnt showing my hash rate...

update: 10/27
got my GTX970 FTW this afternoon. been mining for the past 2 hours, underclocked 1177mhz, 59% power target, pulling 180w, hashing 1.85gh

yes you can mine on Nvidia with the fact this coin is merge mined I would not bother doing any CPU mining the difficulty is too high

Thanks to the efforts of Epsylon3/tpruvot, Blakecoin has been ported to ccMiner for use with Nvidia based GPU cards
https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9273277  *note that it supports both the 14 rounds Slow version of Blake256 and the Faster 8 rounds version used by BlakeBitcoin and others

I released a new version 0.8.9.3 with CoinControl
https://github.com/BlakeBitcoin/BlakeBitcoin/releases/tag/0.8.9.3

this is useful for people that either send large transactions or have a lot of small inputs which has been known to create sending issues "Transaction To Large", with coincontrol you can consolidate these inputs, set a custom change address, or lock inputs on an address if for some reason you dont want them to move from that address and I also added mininput again so you can define a set minimum input that gets used for creating transactions

often coincontrol is seen with PoS coins so you might see one of those joining the merge mine pools soon  Wink

Sorry for the spam, but I am happy to announce that blaketrader is ready for open beta.

Please check out http://www.blaketrader.com to see how you can trade blake family of coins directly with each other.

For example, trade blakebitcoins directly with electron, photon, blakecoin, and universalmolecule.

Thanks!

nice idea! congrats

Thanks!

To help launch the open beta, starting with a giveaway at https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/17922-blaketradercom-blake-256-coins-giveaway/

Indeed no installer , the wallet I recently posted uses only one dll (which i think you may need on win 7 not win 8 or further but if anyone can confirm I would appreciate it since I have limited win machines to test on ?)

We appreciate the feedback from everyone, if you have any legit issues post here and we will try to help.

Please show us a copy of the link you are downloading from and the log of your virus scanner.

Guys,

No FUD and not trying to spread rumour, but can someone please check the Windows installer at the link on the OP?

Twice I have installed it, and twice Avast! is warning it's a virus. Twice I told Avast! to hush and now I will for the second time be rebuilding my Windows machine. Avast! was wrecked twice by whatever is in that file.

Just FYI.

Be good.

There is no windows installer?

Just a precompiled windows daemon and qt with needed dlls (use your own dlls if you want)

I compiled and used same dll as in my other release all clean, you can always compile from source!

Avast! is warning it's a virus"

post the warning message please it might give an insight into the problem

Virus inside

nope false positive you can always build from source

atm the latest build is done by Cinnamon here:

Ok , bluedragon747 is quite busy developing something other than a coin for a few weeks and in the meanwhile I am going to keep BlakeBitcoin or B Plus as we call it updated.  (also Blake Coin) at his request. These are not mandatory updates but recommended.

To do this I forked his repository and updated the code with a checkpoint, and a small fix to the code that fixes a little error in the rpc console that causes it to crash sometimes when running in non server mode.

Here is the new wallet for windows compiled with open ssl1.0.1h and qr support

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bz8503hoyr74VFo0Und4WmJKMWc/edit?pli=1

Here is the repository on github I forked from bluedragon747's original one which he will likely merge when he has time

https://github.com/photonproject/BlakeBitcoin

Finally here are the exact changes for the curious

https://github.com/photonproject/BlakeBitcoin/commit/f0f5d7686f371a83bde29924520d34689267f791

Note , I tested this client on windows 8, 8.1 and 7, windows 7 needs the dll file in the zip with the wallet,  windows 8 seems to run it fine without.

Would like to hear feedback from others. Again this is a non mandatory update but since the coin has never been checkpointed I would strongly encourage anyone running a node to update to this and users also.

I'm going to post this only once on this thread, if this could be added to OP, that would be great.

The pool http://nomp.universalmolecule.co.ve is cracking blocks steadily and it supports anonymous merged mining of all the 6 coins in the blake eco.

Official pool thread is in https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annpoolblakemergedanon-universalmolecules-anon-nomp-pool-732864

Not going to post anything else as not to create spam.

Hi!

I downloaded wallet, created blakebitcoin.conf with

addnode=146.185.135.24
addnode=162.243.14.130
addnode=188.226.213.85
addnode=107.170.140.27

but it's not syncing.
Do we need more nodes?

Add my pool's and blue's nodes:

addnode=universalmolecule.co.ve
addnode=ny2.blakecoin.com
addnode=eu3.blakecoin.com
addnode=la1.blakecoin.com
addnode=cg1.blakecoin.com

I do not know if this is the case here. But some people take a signature from a known virus and post it to a coins blockchain. Look it up if you really want to know how. I'm not giveing a ninstructions manual on how to put grafitti on a coin.

virus checker then generates a false positive

yep ive read of it today
