Hey guys,

Having issues syncing after removing VPN. Network blocks that im behind are actually increasing once i try to sync. How can i start the syncing again from the begining?

Try this up to date, place in bismuth folder/static:

https://mega.nz/#!tdJkER6Q!Z9wBdNVXmQv0LXRft722s2JBXDh20YPsl_RxFwxOivs

I have exactly the same problem. Thanks for the link, but I wonder if this synchronisation issue is being addressed?

Healthy blockchain should be easy to sync without snapshots. Right now, it looks like snapshots of the ledger are the only way to sync this. Without them, the chain keeps going back and forward, gets some blocks, then rewinds back. I though that is just my node, but it seems to be a common issue.

Isn't this a serious issue to address?

P.S. One additional small question: what is the right way to do a backup? Is making a copy of "privkey.der" enough, or other files may be needed too?

Temporary forum vacation
This is only CPU-mineable for now right? What can I expect to get with an i7?

Is there a chance of solo mining?

I would not recommend solo mining , as there are already a lot of miners, but on slack you can find pool and miner . Depends on your cycles/s how much you get , but you can try 1-2 hours and see if it's profitable for you.

Thanks

Will the new hardfork change if this is CPU mining? Any solo miner at the moment? Maybe interesting place to start out. Want to test out mining with a home computer for the first time.

Let me announce there will be a 3.9 hardfork on August 1 to improve mining difficulty tapering and to introduce full data serialization (mainly on the network level)
The hardfork will be immediate with the new client and old clients will be diverted to a fork, because communication protocol dramatically changes

This is great news! thanks for all the hard work you do. Little by little this coin will be a success specially since the code was created from scratch.

I don't understand which file "contains" trojan? Can you check all exe/dll files one by one?
I run bismuth node/gui in a sandbox. And i run an installer in VMWare if I need some files from it.
If you paranoic like I, you should choose this way.

And I saw example of one scam wallet from 2014 which don't have any positive on virustotal but steal wallet file from other coins software.

Refrain from posting if you don't understand how heuristic analysis works.
And you should always run stuff virtualized or isolated. Cheers.

i write maybe it's a false positive..

doing more than just fud? it is what adults do...

do you believe everything an av tells you?
so i don't understand why you are still in crypto...

i wanted to know where the hits come from, to explain if they are false positives or not.

i don't care if this is good project virus or other...
but it's a fact: files  contain trojan!!
so dev need to explain this situation
for the rest good life at all.

and is not a generic BTC.miner.. it's a specific trojan:
Win32.Trojan.WisdomEyes.16070401.9500.9878
so!!

ahahgha it's a compressed zip after the installation check the file in the zip before talk please. :-)

also my grandfhater has the capacity to encrypt an installation file :-)

You said it is a compressed zip after the installation. Cant find any compressed life. Except the file win32security.pyd not zip. Result of the scan

and which of the files shall contain the trojan?

you know that there is a miner in your file?
normally, the av-tools recognize them as bitcoin-miner, but as it is in python and new, maybe they name it "wrong".

if you don't trust me try yourself, maybe it's a false positive, but  create a file zip with all file installed and send to virustotal.. and after we can discute..

miner false positive is BTC.miner.. not trojan windows.eye this trojan is very specific.
