Yes it was an issue with 15.1 also, but again, only with 1070ti

First let me say that I have about 400 rigs. I am only having resets with 1070ti cards, so I think it is not a cpu issue, because even rigs with 5 1070tis are reseting

Yeah, something's off with bminer on 1070ti ... but I'm seeing high CPU also with 15.1, it's just that 15.1 actually finds shares at a more or less expected rate, whereas 15.2 mostly just sits there. Do you also get high cpu usage on 15.1 for 1070ti (not just 15.2)?

We’re pleased to release Bminer 15.2.0. The release provides:

* Improve performance and stability of Cuckatoo31.
* Slightly improved performance of Ccukaroo29
* Reduced the chance of reject and stale shares of CC29/CC31
* Support RTX 2080/2070 for Cuckatoo31. RTX 2080 expected speed 1.45G/s

Please see https://www.bminer.me/releases/ for more details.

Happy mining.

On Ubuntu 16.04, GTX1070 Ti, and grin c31 the new version 15.2.0 is finding no shares at all. GTX1070 does find shares, but is slower than 15.1.0.

CPU is i3-7100. 8GB ram. CPU usage is 100%.

Seems like 15.2 has actually regressed performance. I see the opposite of what @realbminer says above.

Ok, something is definitely wrong with this release.

For 13x GTX1070 using a Celeron G3930 (2 cores, 2 threads, 2.9 GHz), the CPU usage is only 80% with the default intensity of 6 (mining C31). Pool hashrate matches roughly what bminer reports.

For 12x GTX1070 Ti using an i3-7100 (2 cores, 4 threads, 3.9 GHz), the CPU usage is at 100% even with intensity 1 and it's hardly finding any shares at all ... pool hashrate is practically 0.

Note 12x vs 13x. Something's wrong here. Why is is so bad for 1070 Ti? Ubuntu 16.04. Nvidia 415.27. CUDA 10.

v15.1 is fine, although also high CPU usage, but share rate (pool hashrate) is ok.

Some more info. On 1070 Ti it uses 8051MiB while on 1070 it uses 8029MiB. Both cards have 8119MiB total. I know they have a different number of CUDA cores, but still, I'm using 12x card instead of 13x ... makes no sense.

Same problem in 15.2 Should be an easy fix. Remove the usage of atiadlxx.dll if all the cards are nvidia in the rig. Testing grin29 btw...

i'm "pleased" to report, that cucko31 is still broken in 15.2.0, not working in 3 rigs with 1080 ti cards:

1070 and 1080 ti c31 linux test 15.2.0 bminer all pool.
yes bminer performance seems to have increased but it is 10% lower in pools.

When mining Grin /29, 31/ with 2080Ti, I've got "Failed to fetch device status fo device id: 0, Error code: 999"
Also "Fatal cuda error in GPU 0. Terminate soon ..." and 0 accepted shares after this error.
Driver 419.35
Otherwise works fine, except rejected shares with nicehash pool /code 1, share above target error/

No such error with gminer or nbminer.

C31 CPU usage is greatly increased with 15.2.0

G3990 is pegged at 100% with 9x 1080ti, as a result performance on those rigs is slower

a rig with 6x 1080ti and i7 6700 hashes at 1.45-1.5 per card (+100/+1000 180w) which is great, as there is room in CPU usage.
I think it's something that one will have to get used to more and more. Gone are the days where one could hook up 19 high-end GPUs and have that run by a Celery and 4GB of ram. Gradually one's going to have to dish out a bit more on hardware in general (esp. CPU and RAM - as the example above as well as several new algo releases show).

got weird problem. Hashrate on two of three of my 1080's dropped with bminer 15.1.
Example:
with bminer 15.0.2 each 1080 have 5.5 gps on C-29
with bminer 15.1 one 1080 (in X16) have 5.6 gps, two others 1080 have only 4.8 each
Maybe someone got same problem and can help me to resolve it?
@realbminer, some help for me?

P.S. HiveOS, driver 396.54

Same problem to me but with 1080Ti. Any help?

hello guys...

anyone have also RX580 cards ? which miner you have for mining Cuckoo29?

with AMD cards you have really low hash  Sad

Maybe some one have alternative miner for AMD?

Thank you

ACG activates on dpm5, lower than it you'll notice less freq volatility.

Yeah - I tested that, and definitely saw more reliable clocks compared to settings, but it also caused a higher power draw even at the same voltage / effective clock.

@pbfarmer
Its complicated with vega powerplay table, but we managed to make it work, SoC state doesn't make difference now. The "Smart Tune" I am refering is exclusive feature in our OS that makes some adjustments to memory timings runtime so it speeds up memory bound/hard algorithms like ethash, equihash and possibliy cuckoo(as seen above).

Ok - thanks for the info.  FYI (and for anyone else looking for Vega #s), here's what I'm seeing averaged across 2 Sapphire Nitro 64s (ubuntu 18.04 + rocm 2.0 w/ atomics, i7 8700k, platinum psu):

Core: 1325MHz actual (1500/1525 setting)
Mem: 800Mhz (P2 state)
Voltage: 831mv
Speed: 3.77gps
Power: 105w (dpm reported) / 140-145w (wall)

831mv is likely higher than necessary here, though any decrease will have to be paired w/ a core clock setting increase to keep the same gps, due to Vegas ACG / clock throttling behavior.  Regardless - overall power could likely still be reduced a bit for the same performance.

Regarding core vs mem clock importance... from this base point, I see a ~50Mhz (actual) core increase being equivalent to a 300Mhz mem increase, bringing the gps up to ~4, but i haven't measured the corresponding power increases (i would expect the latter to be higher.)

Finally, I am unfortunately seeing a 4% (nanopool) - 6% (grinmint) reject rate due to invalid shares (not stales,) which I can't seem to address at all through GPU tuning.
