You know what I think? I think our Burst DEV is the best dev since Satoshi Nakamoto!!!  Grin

Dev I want to Share a block with you (will send you 10k), is this address in your signature ok?

I encurage everyone from early miners who got many blocks to send at least one to our incredible DEV!

Nothing is wrong.Your setup is fine and yes you are mining.
The target Deadline is 50K.

So, instead of an extremely accessible Deadline which would make more people (as in, everyone) have valid shares, this "pool" is following the path of elitism already.
Go figure, I thought the whole point of "decentralisation" would be to allow more people to get at least something back.
But no, this altcrap pool is starting right off the bat favouring the 1%, AND taking a 2% fee.

You're doing it wrong.

The deadline needs to be more restrictive than with pow coins. Verifying shares is orders of magnitude more computationally expensive than verifying normal pow shares, so in order to run a pool on reasonably priced hosting you can't verify as many shares. I agree that the target is lower than it should be right now, however the current pool pays out proportionally every time a block is found, and enough people are now on the pool that the transaction fees in doing so are starting to become significant, so sending out fewer larger payouts keeps the transaction fees down a little and should average out about the same anyway. That payout problem will not apply to v2 pool when it is released.

do you plan to send the passphrases for the v1 pools plotfiles as burst message to the payout addresses before v2 is live or can the plots seamlesly be used on v2?

The passphrases aren't unique enough to give out. What I should be able to do though is do reward assignments on all the v1 pool addresses to pay to v2, then use a list of v1 accounts in v2 to run those payouts to the correct addresses.

I consolidate my drives Plots from 1TB HDDs to 4TB HDDs. Now i have 4 folder with 4 plots and 4 miner on the 4TB drive.
On my system run to many miner jobs, it would be clearer if I this 4x 1TB plots in one folder with one miner could work.

But I am not sure whether the miner also used all my 4 plots.

How much plots can one miner handle? I would like to optimize more, but you get no response from the miner.
I have 2-3 plots in on folder but i cant see whether all be used.
as i know the limit is only the filesystem.
i run it with 2gb plotfiles on full 2tb drives on linux.
i did this to be able to move them quickly within the cluster and i am quite happy with the performance.
each node parses 8 tb within seconds but the diff is going insane.
the java miner takes more memory the bigger the plotfiles are.
i am not sure if this is a bug, a feature or java related...

if burst continues to perform like it does i can add more nodes and use the existing to create the plots really simple.
the more nodes there are the faster i can plot :-)

I think best solution - one miner for each drive.

I tend to agree that the deadline cutoff is a little restrictive. With almost 2TB on the pool, I usually get a couple/few shares in per block found. I imagine someone who wants to mine from a 500GB laptop or even smaller would sometimes not get any shares in for a found block. Deadline cutoff should be higher, and maybe tied to difficulty so it remains roughly the same over time (i.e. same proportion of shares accepted). Still waiting to see the v2 pool and see how it looks/works.

I'm certain V2 will contain many upgrades, and make more people happy.

how to start mining? my run_generate.bat keeps pop up and close... the guide from OP doesnt help. I have no idea what the guide is on about...

run_generate is what makes your plot file.  You need to click run_mine to start mining, (AFTER you have a plot file made) but your wallet has to be open to mine.  I didn't design this system and I don't know what the guy was smoking who did design it.  It has lots of room for improvement.

Well, I really stepped in it now.  I just dropped $330.00 on ebay for 4 Seagate 7200 rpm 3 TB drives.

Worst case, when this coin craps its pants, I can keep the drives and sell them for a mild profit through my PC repair business to people who need new hard drives in their computers.  So I'm virtually loss-proof on this, but damn, to lay out $330.00 that I know damn well I should be saving.....

With shipping included, that $330 bill means I got my drives at $27.50 per TB, which is a little better than the $30 / TB average I have seen.  3 TB drives seem to be the sweet spot for dollars spent vs. TBs gained.

My current mining pc hasn't found anything in 3 days on its 600 GB plot I hacked together from 4 old laptop hard drives via spanning in Windows Disk Management.  I sure hope I have the wallet info set right in the miner so it is sending coins to the right wallet!  It should be right.

Gl man, I'm pool mining right now with 500 GB and I can get about 1000 per day.
